Chapter 5
After making up her mind, Yun Chuman began searching for the contract the original owner signed with the program team.
The bedroom wasn't very big, just a bed and a wardrobe. So one could see everything at a glance.
After scanning the room, Yun Chuman went to the wardrobe. When she got clothes during the day, she noticed a flat drawer inside; it looked like a good place to store important items.
Thinking this, she opened the wardrobe door and pulled out the drawer. Her eyes lit up when she saw the neatly arranged documents and certificates inside. She guessed right!
Yun Chuman deliberately avoided the live-streaming camera in the room. After finding an angle that only showed her back and didn't clearly show what she was doing, she felt safe enough to search through the documents.
The contract for "Every Family Has Its Own Affair" wasn't hard to find. She skimmed through it and found the production team was fairly reasonable, with clear and fair terms, and no hidden traps.
However… the penalty for quitting filming midway was five times the original amount.
Yun Chuman sighed; the ten thousand yuan in her phone wasn't even enough to pay off a fraction of that.
She put down the contract and rummaged through her drawer, finding a card holder in the corner containing two bank cards.
To her surprise, she noticed handwritten notes stuck to the back edges of both cards, one reading "Juan" and the other "Shu."
A thought struck Yun Chuman. She opened her bank app on her phone, and sure enough, the two cards were already linked.
She checked the balances; the amounts were substantial.
But what caught her attention the most was that the balances on both cards were exactly the same.
Yun Chuman finally realized where the original owner's money had gone. The money in Yun Juan's card was definitely his earnings, and as for Yun Shu… the original owner, probably for fairness, had transferred her share to her card.
The combined balance of the two cards was actually enough to cover the breach of contract penalty, but Yun Chuman didn't want to touch a single penny.
She had already taken over the original owner's body; she couldn't go against the original owner's wishes.
She carefully put the two cards back in their places. As she closed the cabinet door, a question flashed through her mind: Was the original owner really bad to the two children?
Yun Chuman didn't dwell on it and considered what to do next.
Unable to afford the breach of contract penalty, she could only continue recording the program.
But since the original owner could use the program's rules to get close to the male and female leads, she could use the rules to avoid them too.
As long as she didn't encounter the male and female leads, she wouldn't be controlled, nor would her intelligence be forcibly demoted.
Always with a positive attitude, Yun Chuman laid back down on her bed after figuring things out and ready for a good night's sleep. However, she found herself unable to fall asleep.
She stared at the ceiling in the darkness. The cramped room was so quiet she could hear her own breathing.
Some things were better left unsaid, but losing them after having them was far more unbearable.
For Yun Chuman, liveliness and companionship were exactly that.
In her past life, she had spent most of her time alone in hospital rooms and she was used to quiet environments.
But today, with the two children by her side all day, it had been so lively. Now, being alone again, the silence felt like torture.
Yun Chuman hugged her blanket and thought for a while before getting up and quietly going to the neighboring bedroom.
She remembered that bedroom was quite large; the two children might be scared! Perhaps she should go and keep them company!
The show "Every Family Has Its Own Affairs" featured six guest families. Yun Chuman's family was the first to rest, and finding it uninteresting, the viewers were about to leave when they suddenly saw her sneak into the two children's room. The live chat was filled with question marks.
—What is Yun Chuman doing? Is she secretly checking up on them?
—No way, maybe she's just checking if the kids have kicked off their blankets.
—My intuition tells me it's not that simple! Haha, let's watch the drama unfold!
The two children weren't asleep at all. Yun Chuman had just said goodnight to them and they were still excited.
So, the moment Yun Chuman pushed open the door, she was discovered.
Yun Juan and Yun Shu exchanged a glance in the darkness, tacitly pulled up their blankets to cover their heads, and pretended to be asleep. Their ears perked up, eager to know what Yun Chuman was up to.
Two identical little bulges.
Yun Chuman stood between the two beds, looking left and right in confusion, unable to tell which was which.
She hesitated for a moment, then silently used eeny meeny miny moe and the final result was the bed on the right.
Yun Chuman tiptoed over, wanting to lift the blanket a little to see which child was inside, but someone beat her to it.
"Mommy."
Yun Shu sensed her approach and finally couldn't resist calling out softly. The blanket was pulled down a bit, revealing bright, sparkling eyes.
Yun Chuman paused a bit before putting a finger to her lips: "Shh~"
Completely unfazed by being discovered, she became much more relaxed, lying down beside her and asking in a soft voice with a smile, "Why aren't you asleep yet? Are you scared?"
Yun Shu blinked, clearly confused.
Yun Chuman chuckled, "Mommy will sleep with you, okay?"
The little girl was soft, warm, and smelled wonderful; she couldn't resist hugging Yun Shu tightly.
Yun Shu immediately rubbed her cheek against Yun Chuman's shoulder like a kitten, smiling sweetly, "Okay~"
She thought for a moment and whispered in Yun Chuman's ear, "Mommy, actually, elder brother isn't asleep either."
Huh? The two kids had just pretended to be asleep to fool her!
Yun Chuman turned her head sharply upon hearing this, encountering Yun Juan, who was holding the small blanket and looking at her.
The little boy's first reaction was to close his eyes again.
Yun Chuman suppressed a laugh and raised her voice slightly, "Oh dear, little Shu, a child was caught pretending to be asleep. Do you know who it is? I know, but I won't tell."
Yun Shu covered her mouth, chuckling.
Yun Juan's face flushed. He awkwardly opened her eyes.
Even in the darkness, Yun Chuman could see the embarrassment on his face. She smiled and said, "Little Juan, are you scared? Mommy will sleep with you."
Yun Juan's eyes lit up at her words, but he quickly became haughty again, turning his back to them and muttering, "I'm a big boy now, I don't need anyone to stay with me. Mommy can stay with Young Sister."
Although he said that, he kept an eye on what was happening behind him. Seeing that Yun Chuman wasn't trying to persuade him anymore and was even whispering to Yun Shu, Yun Juan felt a little sad and aggrieved.
He curled up and his little hands unconsciously dug at the wall in front of him. For the first time, he felt regret. If only he hadn't refused his Mommy...
Yun Juan secretly sniffed, feeling his eyes burning.
Just as he was about to cry, the bed behind him suddenly dipped, causing him to roll backward.
Startled, he instinctively turned around and saw Yun Chuman and Yun Shu lying smiling beside him. The little boy's eyes widened in surprise. Yun Shu shook his arm and whispered, "Elder Brother, move a little further in, Mommy's going to fall!"
Still dazed and confused, Yun Juan instinctively moved closer to the wall. Yun Shu immediately squeezed in.
Yun Chuman was finally free from being half-suspended in mid-air.
She stretched out her long arm and hugged both children, smiling, "I know little Juan and little Shu are actually very brave. It's Mommy who's timid. It's too dark at night and I'm afraid to sleep alone. So, can you stay with me tonight?"
Squeezed between them, Yun Shu nodded shyly, "En~"
Yun Juan glanced at Yun Chuman's hand resting on his stomach. Slowly he wrapped his little hand around Yun Chuman's index finger, awkwardly saying, "I...I'll protect you."
"Thank you, little Juan and little Shu, you're both amazing!"
Yun Chuman felt comfortable. Finally, she wasn't lonely and holding her two little cubbies! Grinning, she said, "Goodnight, darlings."
Yun Juan and Yun Shu's eyes lit up, filled with the excitement of finally getting an opportunity.
The two children said in unison, "Goodnight, Mommy."
Then they said to each other:
"Goodnight, younger sister."
"Goodnight, elder brother."
Yun Chuman found them so adorable. In bliss, she hugged them and gradually became sleepy.
Yun Juan and Yun Shu laid quietly beside her, still awake.
The two children knew Mommy was acting strangely today and they knew it was probably because of the cameras.
But they couldn't resist the mommy's smiles, her holding their hands, her goodnight, and her cuddling as they slept.
Yun Shu leaned close to Yun Juan's ear and whispered, "Elder Brother, I wish Mommy can always be like this."
Yun Juan hummed in agreement. He also wished Mommy could always be like this, so he and little Shu could never want a father.
One adult and two children slept on a single bed. Although it was crowded, it felt incredibly peaceful, and the two children finally fell asleep.
Soft, shallow breathing filled the live stream. The dark screen only vaguely showed the three people huddled together. Still, it was even more lively than during the day.
—Ahhh, this family of three is so cute!
—Just came from the neighboring fluffy group. The "raising cubs" group is so heartwarming!
—I came from the neighboring wealthy family group. It’s still human cubs who are so healing. I'm totally hooked!
—Aww, anyone want to form a group to steal cubs?!

The exhausted production team, seeing Yun Chuman's livestream viewership steadily climbing, instantly perked up.
The assistant asked incredulously, "This works?"
Li Rufei, with huge dark circles under his eyes, laughed heartily, "Hahaha, Yun Chuman is great! She doesn't even need any instructions. She perfectly portrays the character I envisioned."
Then he turned to the assistant, "After the pilot episode is filmed, give little Yun Shu an appearance fee based on little Yun Juan's rate. Make sure all three of them are on the show."
"Okay," the assistant nodded, noted it down in his notes, and then asked in confusion "Llittle Yun Shu is so cute, why didn't Yun Chuman mention it before?"
Li Rufei pondered for a moment, "Don't ask so many questions. Just tell the people filming Yun Chuman's family not to deliberately film little Yun Shu's face."
The assistant was stunned for a moment before it dawned on him. He looked at Li Rufei in surprise; his director was actually so conscientious! Could it be that he had been possessed?"
"Tell the other groups to film more scenes of the Wang Family arguing! And the Yun Family too, hopefully they can uncover some secrets of this wealthy family!" Li Rufei rubbed his hands excitedly.
The assistant breathed a sigh of relief. This was the director he knew! His sudden burst of conscience was indeed just a fluke!

Yun Shu: I hope Mommy can smile at me every day and hug me every day when saying goodnight~ I'm willing to give her all my snacks!
