Honey was the only thing they consumed regularly so I casually Googled it. It seems honey was used as a birth control method in ancient time even though I didn't read it in detail. If it's true, I wonder when would they realize it

Deleteiirc honey can be deadly to babies, which is why honey jars have a warning about not feeding it to babies on their labels. i think it's a genetic predisposition thing, which is why it could be applied to fetuses

DeleteDrinking honey is not a contraceptive. The ancient people in egypt use honey as a birth control but they don't drink it--they apply it in a cloth with acacia leaves and place that inside their vagina.

Men are so blase about the pregnancy thing cause they don't have to go through 9 months of feeling like an alien in your own body. 95% of pregnancy is sh*t, its not the holy experience people make it out to be. Its filled with heartburn, vomiting, farting, emotional rollercoasters, breakouts not to mention how ugly and fat you feel the whole time. Women are not incubators to spawn their offspring. After 3 kids I'd have my tubes tied! He doesnt know how tiring raising 3 kids all of similar age is! All he wants is a daughter and I'm sorry buster but it aint up to you!!

You are mistaken. Ingested honey isn’t contraceptive at all. It may be anti-bacterial, slightly acidic and anti-fungal, but ingesting it won’t do much to fertility as the body processes it as sugar. When ancient people used honey as a contraceptive (notably the Greeks and Romans), they put it on some lint/cloth and then placed it inside of the woman’s vagina. The acidic qualities of honey were thought to be hostile to sperm.
