WLAEF 87

Chapter 87

Jiang Yun Zhu knew that Lin Ting An was a very proud person, too proud to allow others to refuse.

"Gentleman Lin, do you want to chat?" Jiang Yun Zhu asked him standing there.

Lin Ting An looked at her, "What does Miss Jiang want to talk about?"

"Nine times out of ten, things won’t go as wished in life." Jiang Yun Zhu felt that maybe her repeated avoidance aroused his competitive spirit.

Lin Ting An immediately understood what she meant. To be honest, he wanted her. And he certainly wanted to compete with Shen Feng Ming.

However, he did have a crush on her.

Thinking about it this way, he stood up. The days were long. He would slowly make her like him.

"Miss Jiang, rest early. I'll guard the door for you." Lin Ting An said, walked to the door, and looked at the bright moon in the sky.

The bright moon was bright and clear, while the breeze was blowing slowly. The scenery in the mountains was touching.

Jiang Yun Zhu knew that with his pride, since he said so, he wouldn't touch her.

She was tired. She went to bed and fell asleep.

The breathing in the room gradually became steady. Lin Ting An looked back at the person on the bed, walked slowly into the room, and carefully observed Jiang Yun Zhu.

At this moment, she was lying there without a trace of defense.

She trusted him so much? Lin Ting An stopped there for a long time before going out again.

The next morning, Jiang Yun Zhu was lying on the bed, feeling anxious.

She wondered what was going on outside. She disappeared in the Lin Manor. Shen Feng Ming should look for her, right?

If he go find...

She already understood the plan of the person that had her captured - put the blame on the Lin Family for her disappearance. If Shen Feng Ming confronted the Lin Family at that time, it would be equivalent to him standing on the opposite side of the crown prince. Then...

Jiang Yun Zhu knew that Shen Feng Ming wouldn't fall into this kind of trap easily. Still, she was worried. There were Lin Yu Bai, Jiang Yun Xue, and others. How anxious would they be with her disappearance.

"Miss Jiang, are you awake? Do you want to eat some wild fruit?" Lin Ting An stood at the door holding a big leaf. On the emerald green leaf, there were four or five bright red wild fruits exuding a faint fruit fragrance.

Jiang Yun Zhu got up and went to the river outside to freshen up. Then she stared at the river for a while before returning to the wooden hut.

While eating the fruit, she worriedly said to Lin Ting An, "I seemed to hear something howling now. Could it be the tiger from yesterday? Gentleman Lin, I don't think it's safe here. Let's go to another place. "

Lin Ting An thought for a while, "Those criminial are much more vicious than tigers. Don't worry, Miss Jiang. With me here, the tiger couldn't hurt you."

"I wonder when our rescuers will come." Jiang Yun Zhu sighed.

Lin Ting An took a bite of the fruit, "Miss Jiang, don't worry. It should be soon."

At this time, there was a feel of oncoming rain outside. The entire Lu Prefecture, whether it was officials or ordinary people, felt inexplicably tense and depressed recently, as if something big was about to happen.

In the ruined temple in the west of Lu Prefecture City, Qilin Guards finally found Jiang Yun Zhu's trace, but...

Everyone was silent like a cicada.

Shen Feng Ming walked in from the outside with the Kunwu sword on his waist.

"Chief, this is..." The man fell to his knees at the end of his speech.

There was a female corpse on the ground of the ruined temple. The corpse had been hacked by a sword and burned by fire. Her appearance could no longer be seen clearly. But her height and build were the same as Jiang Yun Zhu's.

What's more, she wore the two little hairpins she usually wore on her head.

Shen Feng Ming picked up the two little hairpins. The surroundings were deadly silent.

That evening, Lin Ting An went out to hunt. When he came back, he saw that the wooden hut was in a mess, with bright red blood on the ground and a few pieces of clothes that seemed to be torn apart by wild animals.

The clothes belonged to Jiang Yun Zhu, which included his robe and her long dress.

Thinking back to what Jiang Yun Zhu said in the morning about tiger’s howl, it seemed easy to draw the conclusion that the tiger broke into the house while he was out and attacked Jiang Yun Zhu.

Was that the case? Lin Ting An raised the corners of his lips. That tiger was dealt with last night, could it be possible to for it to come back from the dead?

"Miss Jiang, Miss Jiang?" He searched around as if he was anxious.

Despite covering a huge area, he couldn't find Jiang Yun Zhu.

His gaze turned cold and suddenly looked at the river not far away.

He ran over. As expected, he saw traces of a log being dragged on the bank. From the looked of it, Jiang Yun Zhu must have drifted down the river with the log in her arms

He raised his eyebrows, took out a piccolo from his sleeve, and blew twice.

Soon, a group of people ran over from the woods and knelt down, "Eldest Gentleman!"

"Search the river below. You must find her." Lin Ting An's face was as cold as ice.

"En." Those people immediately went downstream along the river.

Someone brought a horse to Lin Ting An. He got on the horse and rode the horse downstream.

The surroundings became empty.

About two quarters of an hour later, Lin Ting An came back on his horse, walked around, found nothing unusual, and rode away again.

After another hour, a person floated down from the upper reaches of the river. That person was holding a piece of wood in her hand. If it wasn't Jiang Yun Zhu, who was it?

She knew Lin Ting An too well. Whether it was blood or drag marks, she made them on purpose. In fact, she went up the river. But she didn't dare to go too far, she was afraid that they were being hunted down as Lin Ting An said. It would be a disaster if she ran into those criminials.

She was one kiliometer or so upstream of the river. Now that she came down, she saw many messy footprints by the river as well as the obvious horseshoe prints.

Lin Ting An was lying. At the bare minimum, he was capable of taking her out of here, but he refused to let her go.

Now what? Jiang Yun Zhu hugged the log and continued to go down the river. She knew that Lin Ting An would soon find out that she didn't go down the river at all and then returned to look for her.

All she had to do was to go down the river, find an easy hiding place, and utililze the time difference with him.

When the time comes, he would be in a hurry to return and definitely not search carefully on the way.

Moreover, she was afraid of the beasts in the mountains. She could avoid encountering wild beasts by following them.

The river was actually four or five meters wide. The deep part was about two or three meters, while the shallow part was a meter or so. Jiang Yun Zhu hugged the wood. Sometimes she could walk a few steps in the river. Sometimes she drifted down the river and drifted far away in a short while.

At a turn, she suddenly caught sight of a place overgrown with water weed. There was a big tree growing crookedly. That big tree was strangely robust. With the addition of the closely knit vines, it was easy to hide a person.

She immediately dragged the wood in her hand to the shore and hid behind the big tree, adjusted her posture, and covered her body with some water weeds before leaning there to rest for a while.

Her whole body was wet, sticky and uncomfortable. But she couldn't care less about it now.

About half an hour later, there were indeed voices and the sound of horseshoes.

Lin Ting An had found out that he had been tricked and brought people back to find her. Thinking this, Jiang Yun Zhu held his breath, and remained motionless.

If she was in another place and was actually hiding behind a tree, Lin Ting An’s group would be able to find her no matter how careful she was. But this was by the river. The river was noisy with splashes. Lin Ting An and others were also rushing back to search. No one noticed someone was behind the tree.

When those people were far away, Jiang Yun Zhu hugged the log, returned to the river, and continued down.

This time she drifted a long distance. She didn't land until she saw the trees on the bank getting shorter and shorter. As for the piece of wood she was holding, she let it continue down. This way, if Lin Ting An searched back, he would follow it and continue from there.

After floating in the river for so long, she felt cold all over when she landed.

She looked around. This place was a mountainous area. The surrounding area was mostly small and sparse bushes. There should be no large beasts.

The most urgent task was to light a bonfire to keep warm.

Behind a mountain wall, she picked up a lot of branches. Then she took out the flint she had hidden on her body. After drying for a while, a warm yellow bonfire was ignited.

Jiang Yun Zhu put her hands by the fire, feeling very warm.

But she didn't dare do it for too long. After drying the clothes on her body, she extinguished the fire and thought about what to do next.

At this moment, a group of people came from the lower reaches of the river. The leader was a strong man. He spoke as he moved, "Quickly tell Gentleman Lin to take people away. That person had come after him."

At the mention of that person, everyone present trembled.

"Afraid my ball! He is a human being too and can bleed. Haven't you seen?" A sturdy man shouted.

Everyone was still shivering. How could they possibly dare to look? They ran for their lives.

The sturdy man asked the person next to him, "Can't run away anymore. Did you bring that thing?"

"Brought it." The man replied.

"Find a place to bury it. Later, lead him there and he’ll be decapitated." The sturdy man spat on the ground.

"En." Everyone agreed.

Those people immediately got to work, whether it was delivering the message or setting the ambush.

Jiang Yun Zhu happened to be on the hillside above where they were. Looking down from a high position, she had a clear view of the situation below.

They seem to have mentioned Gentleman Lin just now. Lin Ting An? Then who came after him?

Thinking of that person, Jiang Yun Zhu's heart ached.

They seemed to be going against Shen Feng Ming. She hid behind the mountain wall and looked down anxiously.

About half an hour later, more than a dozen fast horses galloped from a distance like sharp arrows. The leader was dressed in black, whether it was Shen Feng Ming or someone else.

Jiang Yun Zhu nervously clenched a rock in front of her, wanting to open her mouth to warn.

At this time, Shen Feng Ming reined in the horse and stopped.

He looked around.

Jiang Yun Zhu didn't dare to speak out so freely, for fear that the people below would find her and come toward her. She couldn't bear it.

She couldn't watch Shen Feng Ming being ambushed.

So she carefully walked out from behind the mountain wall, waved her hand, and pointed to the side, signaling to Shen Feng Ming that there was danger there.

Just in time, Shen Feng Ming looked in her direction.

The two were far apart. Jiang Yun Zhu didn't know whether he saw her or not. So she kept waving.

At this moment, Shen Feng Ming moved, he urged the horse to go this way.

As soon as he moved, those ambushing people moved one after another and shot short arrows at him.

Jiang Yun Zhu's heart was pounding, and she didn't know if Shen Feng Ming understood what she meant.

Arrows flew all over the place below. One even flew toward her. Jiang Yun Zhu quickly hid behind the mountain wall.

After a while, there was a bang outside and the ground seemed to tremble twice.

Jiang Yun Zhu was so shaken that she lay on the mountain wall and hurriedly looked out. There were severed limbs all over the ground, while Shen Feng Ming and Qilin Guards's men were riding toward her with blood on their horses.

Safe, she breathed a sigh of relief.

At this moment, another group of people came. They were led by Lin Ting An.

He saw both Jiang Yun Zhu and Shen Feng Ming and said, "Miss Jiang, it's dangerous. Come to me quickly."

If Jiang Yun Zhu didn't know Shen Feng Ming's identity, it seemed that Lin Ting An's side was safer since Shen Feng Ming was covered in blood,

Shen Feng Ming stopped when he heard these words, looked at Jiang Yun Zhu and said, "Miss Jiang, my surname is Shen and my name is Feng Ming." When he saw the female corpse yesterday, Shen Feng Ming knew at a glance that the person wasn't Jiang Yun Zhu. Still, the feeling in his heart was turbulent like the river and the sea.

He didn't even dare to think about what he would do if the corpse was her.

He didn't want to hide his name anymore. He wanted to take her under his wing and prevent her from being hurt in the slightest.

Jiang Yun Zhu stood there in a daze.
