ReplyDeleteIt's true that she looks down on your family it's mainly because she's raised as an give and take type person, and as an orphan, she probably hates spoiled, lacking in backbone or conniving people, she gave you the duck mainly because she doesn't want you to whine too much. It's also clear that liu ni is copying the MC, since she's the dominant female in the family, so she's likely acting this way because that's how she perceives the MC, further mirroring this. San ni is behaving similarly to the MC's brother so the orginal body likely behaved this way also, we don't see how the Mc's material family normally behaves but it's clear, they never liked the MC, the father and mother is indifferent, the siblings look down on her. The OG Mc keeped senting the gifts because she wanted them to like her, and was subconsciously trying to bribe them, but it only made her look pathetic and weak to the mc material family, which likely how Liu ni will turn up. But by the way the second brother talks, it's like he actively hates half his family other then the submissive San ni and the delusional son, "If daughter can marry well, I will prevent her from marrying." This is some pretty serious grudge against her, so the second family will likely have an divorce, Or an copy of the original Mc will play out. Wow, I was just trying to roast the second family, but I connected the dots as I wrote.

Delete2nd Brother does not hate Liu Ni. Saying out of five stars, he will rate her one is being aware that she really has no redeeming qualities and instead is chockfull of bad ideas, but retaining one star is to say he still has affection since she is his daughter. Saying that he will prevent Liu Ni from getting married well is being a responsible person and a father. From Liu Ni’s character, if she can marry well, it can only be through conning and manipulating other people. He knows this in himself and he will only be a responsible person by putting a stop to it. Being a responsible father is knowing that while Liu Ni can be clever but she is clever at the wrong things so not only will she hurt her husband’s family, she will also hurt herself and her maternal family. I think he wants Liu Ni to marry into a family that can ground her and curb her bad ideas if she ever were to be married off but that kind of family might not be what his wife and daughter consider a “good match”.
DeleteWhile the Zhou family’s womenfolk have people like Mother Zhou and 2nd SIL who’s constantly muddleheaded and occasionally crooked in thoughts, Zhou family’s menfolk have always been clear-headed. Father Zhou might be too grounded in the old times, but it can also be said that he is just too hardworking and afraid to be idle. All the four brothers and their father, even back when everyone was badmouthing LQH, they would discuss it with their wives but ultimately they wouldn’t say too many bad things since it is her own business especially Father Zhou (I really commend Father Zhou for always giving good advice to his wife and for grounding her and clearing up her mind most of the time). When LQH was finally taking off, they were also among the first to sense it. Eldest and Third Brother, they can’t always brush their presence since their wives are pretty competent and open-minded themselves, but that just makes Second Brother stand out. His wife is like that but he isn’t swayed, he sees things as they really are but also accepts his fate as the husband to this kind of woman. Even when she was being unreasonable, he knew it in his heart and would persuade her to try to see reason but he has also never asked for divorce. This is not to say he is foolish, but it can be said to be responsible. He might be lacking in being a father as his children had turned out this way and he also cannot escape the blame but it also cannot be said that he hates and holds a grudge against his second daughter.
I just wanted to say, I really admire the Zhou family men. They are fairly more open-minded and big-hearted people.

When the ignorant people suspect the four branch get most of their properties from the rich Uncle Wang, she would just quote ZQB and LQH's lie about how they didn't make much money from the dumpling shop and how they just have enough money to rent the shop and courtyard. Then, the ignorant people would think it's confirmed that the four branch has been a pair of gold diggers. Or worse, she would also believe that the couple were gold diggers.
