Chapter 593. Translation work
After having this youngest girl, Lin Qing He felt that her role was to supply rations. The rest was to watch the father and daughter scatter dog food.
Sons will be biased towards mothers and daughters will be biased towards fathers. This was extremely credible because her daughter didn't smile at her when she hugged her.
This was born by her through ten months of hard work, but she didn't smile with her. Just giggled at her dad and especially liked listening to her dad's voice.
Occasionally, when she cried, it happened when her dad was in the bath and can't coax her. Her cry would be endless, but as long as she was held outside the bathroom and get her dad to call out twice, she would magically calm down.
After her dad finish washing up and get picked up by him, she would drill into her dad's arms aggrievedly.

Lin Qing He didn't think that she ate too little. A bowl of rice, meat, fish, eggs, and soup. Even when the portion wasn't large, it was definitely a lot.
But honestly, although breastfeeding was a little tiring, she won't really get fat because of paying attention to the diet.
Originally, she was worried.
Still, Lin Qing He drank it. She turned to Zhou Si Ni, "Si Ni, drink more."

Now she was into her second month. Many babies were very noisy at this month, but his family's youngest girl was very quiet. She will only hum when she is uncomfortable, or when she is awake. When she isn't hugged by her dad or couldn't sense her dad's presense, she would cry.
Especially clever. Why else would Lin Qing He's imagination run away?
Zhou Qing Bai took a look. Youngest girl was still asleep. Sleeping quite soundly. So he exited the room without disturbing her.
"I'll wean her when the spring starts next year," Lin Qing He said to him.
She wants to explore around and set up some shops, but she can’t go. One trip took a long time while her family's little girl has to drink milk once every two hour. How can she get away?
"Next year, she's still small." Zhou Qing Bai hesitated.
"Not small. More than four months old. She can try to eat rice mush." Lin Qing He replied.
"Feed until six months before we discuss." Zhou Qing Bai stared at her and stated.
Wean at four months? This was too small. Zhou Qing Bai felt that she should be fed longer. If it is six months, it would be better.

"You aren't afraid of trouble." Lin Qing He disgruntledly said. She felt that four months was little too, so she continued: "Six months then. I will stop feeding after six months. Directly feed her other stuff."
"Okay." Zhou Qing Bai nodded.
Lin Qing He finished exercising and grabbed a book to read. Zhou Qingbai bought back a few English books for her. They needed to be translated. She did some translating exercise when she had nothing to do.
The speed was fast. Even the bookstore came knocking and wanted a long term cooperation.
This opened up another new way of path for Lin Qing He. She considered how she might not be able to return to her post next year. Then she could find a translation job by herself then. One that she could take home and do on her own.
Translation at this time was particularly popular because many foreign masterpieces were in demand to be translated into Chinese or vice versa.
Long-term cooperation can be dropped. Since she have nothing to do during this time, they can cooperate for now.
When Xue Mei Li came over carrying the pig's trotters soup, she asked her what she was doing?
Once she heard that she was doing this part-time translation job, she instantly became impressed: "I also want to pick up some hand-made work to do at home, but I don’t know how to crochet a hat like my mom. "It's just a small deputy chief. What official wife?" Xue Mei Li grinned and continued: "This pig's trotters and peanut soup is specially stewed for you. Perfect for producing breastmilk. You need to drink more."
"I have to accept your thought." Lin Qing He responded. Although she felt helpless, Xue Mei Li was indeed thoughtful. She had stewed pig's trotters and peanut soup for her a few times. It was all stewed and delivered. .
"Where is Xiao Geng's godfather?" Xue Mei Li asked.
"Sleeping with his youngest girl in the room." Lin Qing He chuckled.
"He really love his daughter." Xue Mei Li smiled. Then she urged Lin Qing He to drink the soup and eat the pig's trotter.
Lin Qing He complied. Although it was a little greasy, it was really delicious. She could act spoiled with Zhou Qing Bai. While Xue Mei Li, who brought it over, she definitely accept it.
"You continue to work away. I'll go back first and cook it for you next time." Seeing that she had eaten everything, Xue Mei Li was delighted and jollily said.
"Qing Bai bought a lot of fish and shrimps back this morning. You can bring some back for Xiao Geng to eat. He likes to eat sea fish and shrimps." Lin Qing He stood up and said.
"No need. I bought some myself this morning." Xue Mei Li hurriedly declined.
"Take some back. They are all fresh." Lin Qing He persisted. After splitting some out, she got Xue Mei Li to take it away.

This father and daughter duo is shaping up to be really annoying. I hope Qing He can stand her ground and punch Qing Bai if he starts again with his biased attitude.

DeleteHave to agree with you about ZQB's biased attitude. I especially dislike it when LQH and ZQB talking about their assets and he firmly wants to leave everything to their youngest girl. Although the three brothers are perfectly capable to tend to themselves and earn their own assets, I'm mad about the way ZQB has been thinking
DeleteWell, I understand he's worried because their youngest girl comes so late in their lives yet, he shouldn't make it so obvious. Fortunately, the three brothers have all grown up and won't feel so hurt, unless this happens early when they were still young

Deletethe novel just kinda downgraded during this pregnancy arc. his character development from selfishly wanting for lqh to have a child to accepting that with her age she her health would be affected to just being a bad father to his other kids.
had they been a little younger (like when the very first time he wanted a daughter) , he would really unintentionally fuck up er wa and san wa emotionally. danwa i can see being fine ish but the two younger ones...
regardless of the novel depecting this as endearingly cute. had the roles been reversed and the boys and been girl and mimi had been a boy. the other readers would take issue.
Right! It's off-putting. Why is the other way (a parent only doting on the son. Wich happens more at that time) outrageous but when he does it it's cute? I don't like it one bit. I mentioned this before but I'll say it again: in the beginning you could see his love and care for the children but at some point it vanished. Probably because he's too preoccupied with the fl. Now this daughter. Not even funny anymore. He doesn't even really talk to them anymore when he's with his sons. Just asks one question and he's done with it. Like what kind of crappy dad is this. He even dared to think "sons just go out. Daughter will care for them". Like of course they go out when there is 0 inclination father cares or loves them anymore. They even noticed that he's disleased with them for not being a daughter. (Wich everyone would be outraged over if it was a daughter and the father shows displeasure because of it) Besides that you also have the fact that they the parents just pack up and leave whenever they want to. So yeah, of course they will develop that way because the parents push them in that direction. And the opposite; of course the daughter will care and stay more. Because this father shows that he wants her there. While with the sons he only shows that he wants the sons gone as soon as possible. This thought of him made me particularly MAD because he's the fault of it. At least fl occasionally shows she still loves and cares about them.
DeleteI'm most angry with the author. I like this novel A LOT. But why does he/she make the ML this kind of crappy father all of a sudden when in the beginning he was a great that. Even when he didn't say it directly, you could see his care. Now he only glances at them when they say something wrong and done with it.

ReplyDeleteYou know with all the talk of the girl as a pearl and all that kinda disappointed that her name just means Sweet. Like Zhou Kai, Zhou Xuan, and Zhou Guo Lai are all really great names but then the precious little girl just got the name Sweet.
ReplyDeleteBut then again guessing that original LQH was the one who gave the boys their names and you can't expect much from ZQB naming.
ZQB doting on his daughter is cute and all but I really hope that it's not dragged overboard and he can chill out a tad. Makes me really uncomfortable at how too greatly biased he is. The boys are boys and they won't mind but LQH is right, don't let the gap between the girl and the brothers be too big and it has to be divided evenly.
ZQB loves his 3 sons. In the original plot, ZQB died while trying to help her son fight the enemy. But I dont know why in the last view chapter the author make ZQB look like the wrost father to his son..
