Chapter 406. Being with old Weng Family
In a blink of an eye, the year was coming to the end.
Basically, Lin Qing He was also on holiday break too. Zhou Qing Bai’s dumpling shop was going to close for the holiday soon.

The next day, Zhou Xuan and Zhou Gui Lai brought two jars of honey grapefruit tea to Weng Family.
Zhou Xuan went there once, so Mother Weng knew him. She was delighted to see the two of them coming together.
She warmly entertained the two brothers. Two pots of honey grapefruit tea were kept. When they went back, she urged them to bring back a net bag of oranges, which were big and sweet.

"This year Guo Dong and Guo Liang didn't come back. I will make a trip with Mei Jia." Mother Weng said.

ReplyDeleteWell, I'm liking this arc if it's about children's marriage. Business is cool but it gets boring if you drag it for too long. This arc feels like a vacation. It's relaxing with not much brain needed. Tysm!

ReplyDelete😩 I can only sigh. And it seems I’m the only one who seems uncomfortable about this. I really do feel like Da Wa has been groomed by the Weng family. It’s not about how great their daughter is or how well-matched she and Da Wa are, it’s about how they’ve been slowly integrating Da Wa since he was fourteen and he wasn’t even aware of it. Sure, he’s good friends with the son but the real reason he really got close to this family is because they groomed him into their family. Anyone can be friends but whose friend’s family are this enthusiastic to the point you feel like you have to recognize them as half-family and feel like you gotta visit them on your vacation same as you visit all your other relatives. This is just so icky on so many levels. 14, he was 14! The Weng family may have been very subtle about it but I can’t really differentiate between them and that Zhang sister who lusted after young Da Wa. She was evil and stupid about it so I’m glad she’s gone now. However, this while situation just feels so wrong. And Qing He knows that Da Wa has not yet been enlightened in that aspect and has no thoughts about the Weng girl however much she approves of her. Why is she making connections with the Weng family early? Saying she hopes they have the fate of being in-laws? How could you not have. Unless Da Wa has a strong mind to resist, he’s at least gonna be subconsciously manipulated into this relationship since the two families almost halfway treat each other as in-laws now. Yes, yes, I get it. The Weng girl is really great and well-matched but the fact that everyone else has already made preparations for him and only waiting for Da Wa to fall in just doesn’t feel right.
This novel is a story of how Qing He is 80-90% successful in any venture so we all probably know 80-90% now who Da Wa will end up with.
I just hope Er Wa and San Wa meet their own love interests by themselves just like how they’ve decided on what future path to take by themselves and Qing He didn’t say anything and how Qing He said so before that she won’t meddle and won’t care. I trust Er Wa and San Wa’s vision since they’ve been raised right, by Qing He’s credit I admit. I just want them to find someone through their own eyes and not with someone else directing their gaze.
