WLAEF sidestory 13.2

It hurt and saddening. Jiang Yun Zhu stared at Shen Feng Ming, a string of tears fell from her eyes and fell on his hand.

Shen Feng Ming just looked at her, his hands trembling slightly. He didn't know why this happened. Everything was fine in the morning.

"Is it because of my mother?" he asked. He had found out what his mother had done. "I will solve this matter. She..."

"No." Jiang Yun Zhu spoke at this time.

Her words broke Shen Feng Ming's last bit of hope.

"Then why?" he asked with difficulty.

Why? Why! Probably all this was out of her control from the beginning and it wasn't what she wanted. Committed a capital crime and went to jail. She wanted to live, but she was afraid, so she could only beg him.

But she had nothing. But even if there was, it might not be what he wanted.

Money, power, he had more than she did.

She only has herself.

Of course, she wanted to be like white lotus and say, ‘I'm very grateful to you, but I can't repay you with my own body.’ But she knew she couldn’t. This was what he wanted.

So, what could be done?

More and more tears rolled down her cheeks.

Shen Feng Ming felt that his heart was getting colder and colder.

He tried to wipe away her tears, but it was useless. The more tears he wiped away, the more she cried.

Finally, he understood that her tears were shed because of him. He couldn't wipe them away no matter how hard he tried.

Dejectedly, he withdrew his hand and stood there for a long time.

"It’s settled between us." Finally, he stated. Turning around, he left the room.

Jiang Yun Zhu took in his back and shed more and more tears.

The next morning, she took Yin Cui out.

No one stopped her.

"Master, are we leaving?" Yin Cui asked Jiang Yun Zhu.

In fact, it was fine to not to leave, right? Now she was certain that Official Shen was nice. Even though he was furious yesterday, he didn’t hurt Master. He even let Master leave.

Jiang Yun Zhu’s steps didn't stop. She wanted to calm down. At least, meeting Shen Feng Ming like this was not what she wanted.

The two hired a carriage and left the city.

They got further and further away from the capital.  Yin Cui turned around and suddenly caught sight of a man standing at the top of the city, looking toward them. It seemed to be Shen Feng Ming, but it wasn't clear. In the end, she didn't tell Jiang Yun Zhu about it.

Jiang Yun Zhu wanted to go south, so the carriage went all the way south.

In the midst, Jiang Yun Zhu remained silent and this had Yin Cui fretting.

That day they arrived at a place called Changliu Town. The New Year was about to come and there were all kinds of people selling door gods, candy sellers, and couplet sellers in the town. Everyone came out to buy new year's goods. Merriness was on their faces.

Yin Cui was infected by the excitement and suggested to Jiang Yun Zhu, "Master, why don't we take a rest here and take a stroll before leaving."

Jiang Yun Zhu didn't want to stop at first, but seeing the anticipation on Yin Cui's face, she agreed in the end.

The two people got off the carriage and started wandering in the street.

After buying some small things and having a meal, the two of them walked through the lively market and prepared to meet the coachman.

Halfway there, they saw candied fruits. Yin Cui suggested buying some to eat on the way and there would be flavor in their mouth.

It was a small matter. Jiang Yun Zhu agreed.

Yin Cui went to pick out the candied fruits. After finishing her selection, she went to get the money from the bag.

Soon, her expression changed and she started fumbling around in the small bundle.

She didn't find it, so she rushed to open the bag. The bundle was very simple. It was clear at a glance that the bag containing the money was missing.

Yin Cui was so anxious that she suddenly broke into a sweat. She said, "Where is the money?"

"Oh right, someone bumped into me just now."

"He must have stolen it." Yin Cui said and went to the street in a panic to look for the person who bumped into her. However, there were so many people on the street. Where to find him?

Jiang Yun Zhu was also worried. She came out with only a small amount of money, but now she was  robbed. Food and accommodation would be a problem in the future. What should she do?

She also went to search, but of course she couldn't find him either.

She and Yin Cui stood in the crowd of people on the street, confused and at a loss.

Those around them who knew what they were going through sympathized with them, but there was nothing they could do. If something was stolen, should you report it to the yamen? Yes, but don't hold hope of them catching the thief. It was better to think of yourself as unlucky and think of a solution as soon as possible.

"Master, it's all my fault. I didn't keep an eye on the money." Yin Cui burst into tears.

"Stop crying, we won't starve to death." Jiang Yun Zhu coaxed her. She had skills and could always find a way. However, it seemed that they could only let the coachman leave first.

At this moment, a few yamen people noisily came over.

"Did you lose your money?" one of them asked Jiang Yun Zhu duo.

"Yes, we lost our money." Yin Cui replied first.

The yamen officer pulled out a man from behind and asked, "Did he steal your money?"

Yin Cui recognized this person at a glance, "Yes, that's him."

As she said that, she wanted to go up and punch the man twice. The hateful little thief!

"This pouch?" The yamen officer took out another small bag, which was heavy with some silver.

"It's our silver." Yin Cui exclaimed in surprise.

"Then it's easy to sort. Come back with us, record a statement, and then you can get the money back." The Yamen officer explained.

Was it that easy? Yin Cui burst into tears and grinned. She chanted prayers and lamented the blessings of good people.

When people around them saw this scene, they were all surprised. When did the Yamen become so efficient?

Jiang Yun Zhu was also surprised, but she didn't recite a prayer but instead looked around.

Of course, she found nothing in the end.

With money, they could continue to go south.

After traveling for another seven or eight days, they arrived at a place called Lincheng. It was the New Year. Many inns were closed. Jiang Yun Zhu duo spent a great amount of effort  and found an inn that was still open.

However, the cook of the inn had gone home and there was no decent food in the inn.

Jiang Yun Zhu couldn't even personally cook. There wasn't even any food in the kitchen.

There were only two cabbages left. So they could make pickled cabbage.

Yin Cui came in with cabbage and felt aggrieved for Jiang Yun Zhu. Today was New Year's Eve. Was this what Master will eat?

Jiang Yun Zhu thought it was okay. It was not like she had never had a hard time before. During the New Year, some food would be good.

The two of them sat down and were about to eat. At this moment, the innkeeper ran over and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, didn't serve you well."

As he said that, he moved out of the way to let the people behind him come in.

The person behind held a food box in his hand and opened it. The aroma of food wafted out.

The food was quickly put on the table. There were six dishes, some hot and some cold. It was all Jiang Yun Zhu’s favorite. There were also two plates of dumplings, white and plump and steaming hot.

No matter how careless Yin Cui was, she noticed something at this time, these dumplings and dishes.

"Eat it." Jiang Yun Zhu beckoned.

Yin Cui wanted to say something, but in the end said nothing and sat down to eat.

While eating, she saw that the corners of Jiang Yun Zhu's eyes seemed to be red and she tacitly decided not to tell her.

Half a year later, news came that Shen Feng Ming had been reinstated and became Commander-in-Chief Shen again. Now that the emperor was seriously ill and seemed to rely on him even more

Another year, Jiang Yun Zhu's restaurant business was booming. Everything seems to be going smoothly.

Of course, Yin Cui knew that someone was helping them and someone was always guarding Master.

"Master, are we going to open another restaurant?" This spring, Yin Cui asked Jiang Yun Zhu. Their restaurant business was booming to the point there weren't enough tables.

Jiang Yun Zhu contemplated for a while, "Let's open another one."

"En." Yin Cui was delighted that she could make more money.

Only this time, Jiang Yun Zhu didn't go to the store, but prepared a carriage.

"Master?" Yin Cui was puzzled.

"I want to open a restaurant in the capital." Jiang Yun Zhu said.

Yin Cui was surprised at first. Then she laughed. Her grin was quite wide. It should have been like this long ago.

A month later, the spring flowers bloomed in Shili Pavilion outside the capital. The spring scenery was brilliant. Even this parting place seemed to have become beautiful and less sad because of the spring scenery.

The capital wasn’t far away. Jiang Yun Zhu liked the scenery outside, got off the carriage, and wandered on the slope.

At this time, a horse galloped up the official road. A man on the horse with phoenix eyes and red lips came this way in the spring light. His body seemed to be bathed in light.

Jiang Yun Zhu saw the man and smiled from the bottom of her heart.

Shen Feng Ming dismounted and looked at her, "You are back?"

"En." Jiang Yun Zhu smiled back.

Shen Feng Ming grinned.

A month later, a restaurant called Shiguang Private Restaurant opened in the capital, and business was booming.

And Shen Feng Ming was a frequent visitor here.

Half a year later, Academician Shen and Princess Danyang also frequented this restaurant.

Academician Shen was full of praise for the restaurant's food.

After these two years, Princess Danyang also learned about Shen Feng Ming's persistence and slowly changed her mind.

At the end of this year, Shen Feng Ming and Jiang Yun Zhu got married and the whole city got a long train of red dowry.
