Chapter 35
Back home, Chen Ze immediately called Han Yue. He wanted to see how big this woman's heart was for her to have no reaction at all after someone saved her life.
Han Yue had gradually gotten into the swing of things these past few days and Director Lu was quite satisfied with her performance, so she was in a good mood.
Seeing Chen Ze's call, she answered with all smiles: "Missed me?"
Miss a butt.
Chen Ze couldn't resist but curse inwardly. Thinking about the face he had lost in front of his brothers today, he felt ashamed. All of his brothers, whether married or not, had great partners, but he alone had experienced many breakups and getting together in his love life and could never find a satisfactory partner.
The key point was that he was not against marriage. He's always wanted to find a girlfriend he could marry, but each new one was never as good as the last. Wasn't this kind of life a bit too bumpy?
Seeing that he didn't speak, Han Yue thought she had correctly guessed what he was thinking and smiled sweetly: "You miss me, but you can't even remember to call me?"
Chen Ze resisted the urge to roll his eyes and took a deep breath: "I heard you almost got hit by a pole? I've been a bit busy these past few days and haven't called you. Now that I have some free time, I thought I'd ask you."
Han Yue paused, her smile fading: "It's nothing."
Seeing that she still wasn't going to tell him that Luo Zhengzheng had saved her, Chen Ze squinted and smiled, asking, "I heard it was Luo Zhengzheng who saved you?"
Seeing that he already knew the truth, Han Yue could only say, "Yes, the scene was too chaotic that day, I was so scared that I didn't even have a chance to thank her."
Logically, given her personality, she shouldn't have done something so irrational, but her feelings for Luo Zhengzheng were complicated. In addition, the situation was chaotic at the time, and everyone was surrounding Luo Zhengzheng to care for her, so she didn't have time to thank her.
Later, she wanted to thank her, but couldn’t make herself to. She thought to herself that the production team was invested in by Luo Zhengzheng, and she was the boss. The boss saving her actress was only right, wasn’t it?
Chen Ze exposed the flaw in her statement: "I'm afraid it's not that you didn't have time to thank Luo Zhengzheng, but rather that you didn't intend to thank her at all?"
Han Yue's heart tightened. After a few seconds of hesitation, she explained, "I really didn't have a chance to thank her, and I don't have her contact information. You should know I'm not the kind of person who's inconsiderate of situations. How about this, I don't have any scenes to film the day after tomorrow, so I'll come back and thank her in person, okay?"
Chen Ze sneered, "I always thought you were very well-mannered, but I never expected you to be so jealous. I guess I was blind."
Han Yue's face paled: "What do you mean?"
Chen Ze said directly, "Let's break up."
"You're breaking up with me? Just because of such a small thing?" Han Yue's voice was sharp.
Chen Ze hit the critical point: "This is not a small matter. It's a matter of character."
Han Yue sneered: "You’re actually saying I have character flaws? If it weren't for Luo Zhengzheng, would you still say that about someone else?"
Chen Ze said directly, "I would still say the same thing. No matter who saved you, you should be grateful."
Han Yue knew he really wanted to break up with her, and said, "If we're going to break up, then let's break up. Don't regret it."
She hung up the phone immediately after saying that.
Chen Ze stared at his phone, wondering why would he regret it.
Although they were boyfriend and girlfriend, he did not touch her. She had no leverage over him and he hadn’t wronged her. He even gave her a lot of resources.
He was not the one who should regret it.
It was time for little Chengjia to get his vaccinations again, so Luo Zhengzheng got up early to wash and put on makeup.
Gu Shi didn't go to work. He planned to accompany his son to get his vaccinations before going to the company.
Little Jiajia sat in his high chair eating breakfast, completely unaware of what was about to happen.
After finishing breakfast and seeing that his parents were still there, he was overjoyed: "Dad go out to play. Mom go out to play too."
Luo Zhengzheng took a piece of paper and wiped the rice grains off his mouth: "Okay, Mom and Dad will take little Chengjia out to play."
After breakfast, the family of three sat in the car and went to a nearby hospital for vaccinations.
When they arrived at the hospital entrance, Jiajia instantly realized what was happening, hid in his dad's arms, and sobbed, "No, no, I don't want to go, I don't want shot."
Gu Shi coaxed him, "Okay, no shot."
Luo Zhengzheng glanced at him, took the notebook, and went to complete the formalities. There weren't many people at this hospital, and no one was queuing at the window, so she could get it done as soon as she arrived.
Gu Shi carried his son in. Little Chengjia hugged his dad's neck. The little boy already sensed that he might have to get a shot today, and he was in a bad mood, needing his dad to comfort him.
After completing the formalities and when they arrived at the injection room, little Chengjia, with tears in his eyes, hugged his dad tightly and whispered, "Dad, no shot."
Luo Zhengzheng glanced at the father and son and said helplessly, "Sit down, the shot is about to begin. You're a little manly man, what's there to be afraid of? It's just a shot."
Gu Shi looked at her: "Let's wait until he stops crying before giving the shot?"
Luo Zhengzheng thought to herself, "After you say that, he will cry even harder."
Sure enough, Jiajia acted like gaining an inch and wanting a foot and howled, "Stop crying before giving the shot."
Luo Zhengzheng sent Gu Shi a glare and reached out to snatch the child from his arms, but Gu Shi refused to let go.
Luo Zhengzheng tickled his waist, and he had no choice but to give the child.
Luo Zhengzheng held little Chengjia, took off his down jacket and threw it to Gu Shi. She then made him stick one arm out of the clothes. Sobbing, he felt very wronged. When he saw the auntie holding the syringe, he cried even harder, but he didn't struggle.
Luo Zhengzheng covered his eyes, and Gu Shi, unable to bear watching, turned his face away.
Suddenly, his crying stopped, and with tears in his eyes, he asked his mom, "Shot done?"
Luo Zhengzheng chuckled and asked, "Yes, you've had the shot. Did it hurt?"
He opened his eyes wide and asked in confusion, "It doesn't hurt." Why didn't the shot hurt?
Luo Zhengzheng said, "It wasn't very painful to begin with."
Gu Shi bent down and took a piece of paper to wipe away his tears: "It doesn't hurt, so why are you crying so loudly?"
The nearby woman who gave the injection laughed too. She then told them to observe outside for half an hour before going home.
Little Jiajia looked at his mom, then at his dad, and reached out his hands: "Daddy, hug me."
Gu Shi held him over and the three of them sat on the sofa outside to rest.
Luo Zhengzheng looked at Gu Shi and couldn't help but remark, "Next time Jiajia needs his injection, let Nanny Wang come instead."
Gu Shi looked at her: "Why?"
Luo Zhengzheng complained, "You're dragging our legs. Before, when you didn't come with Jiajia to get his shots, he wouldn't have cried so much. He was so brave."
Gu Shi: "......"
Little Chengjia suddenly spoke up from the side: "Mom bad, no shot."
After saying that, he buried himself in his dad's arms and wouldn't come out.
Luo Zhengzheng glared at him: "I've become the bad mother."
Little Chengjia ignored his mom.
Seeing that he was ignoring her, Luo Zhengzheng sat down next to him and looked at her phone.
Half an hour later, Jiajia was fine and they could go home.
Gu Shi had to go to the company, so Luo Zhengzheng had to take Cheng Jia back alone.
Little Chengjia clung to his dad and wouldn't let go. He had a shot today and felt so aggrieved. He needed his dad to hug and comfort him.
Gu Shi looked at Luo Zhengzheng: "What should we do?"
Luo Zhengzheng angrily patted her son's bottom and gave him a bad suggestion: "Then you take him to the company, I'll go home by myself."
Gu Shi silently looked at her.
A few seconds later, Luo Zhengzheng gave in and said irritably, "Fine, I'll go to the company with you guys."
Gu Shi smiled faintly.
Seeing the smile on his face, Luo Zhengzheng murmured, "You two are such a good father and son. I've taken Jiajia to get so many vaccinations and I'm not a bad mother. But now that you're here, I've become the bad guy."
The family of three drove to the company. Upon arrival, Gu Shi carried his son in one arm and held his wife's hand with the other.
The company group chat exploded.
"Extra! Extra! President Gu had brought his wife and child to work."
"I saw it too. Our President Gu has great arm strength. He's holding the young master in one arm and holding his wife's hand with the other."
"All three members of the family are good-looking."
"President Gu wore a white shirt under his black coat, and Mrs. Gu wore a black sweater under her beige coat. The black and white combination is so nice."
"They are a heavenly couple. The two of them are so well-matched."
"It's like the male and female protagonists from my novel have appeared in the real world. President Gu was even holding his wife's hand, ahhhhh."
"I heard from Secretary Guo last time that President Gu went to his wife's family home to celebrate his father-in-law's birthday."
"Isn't our President Gu considered a good modern son-in-law?"
"Why idolize celebrities? Just idolize our President Gu and his wife."
"The male colleagues here can learn from President Gu."
"Learn from President Gu? You'd need a wife as beautiful as Madam."
"You're not even President Gu yourself, yet you envy him for having a beautiful wife?"
"Look at yourself!"
"......"
The conversation went off-topic.
The family of three arrived at the office. Luo Zhengzheng saw Secretary Guo bring over a pile of documents and took her son, saying, "Dad has to work, we won't disturb him."
Little Chengjia glanced at Secretary Guo and called out in a clear voice, "Uncle!"
Guo Yao smiled kindly: "Little Jiajia's here at the company?"
Little Chengjia looked at his dad and said, "Accompany Dad work work."
Guo Yao squeezed his little hand: "Accompanying your dad to work, huh? Wow, Chengjia is so amazing."
Little Chengjia was overjoyed to receive the praise.
Guo Yao smilingly said, "How about Uncle get you some fruit?"
Little Chengjia clapped his hands: "Eat fruit, eat fruit."
Gu Shi smiled and glanced at his son. Once he sat down in his chair, he began working.
Luo Zhengzheng pinched her son's cheek. "You little brat, wasn't it you who couldn't bear to leave your dad and insisted on Dad accompanying you? Now you're the one accompanying your dad to work."
After Guo Yao went out, he personally brought in some fruit. Since the company didn't have any snacks suitable for children, he called someone to send over some children's snacks.
Luo Zhengzheng carried her son to the lounge inside. There wasn't much to do there and she couldn't exactly hold her son while watching a computer.
She then asked Guo Yao to help buy a few children's picture books, and sat on the sofa to read them to her son.
Little Jiajia had gotten his vaccinations today and cried for so long. So after listening to his mom read a picture book for a while, he got tired and nodded off little by little while leaning against the sofa.
Luo Zhengzheng took off his clothes and shoes, and carried him to bed to sleep.
She laid on the sofa, casually flipping through Gu Shi’s business book by Gu Shi. However, as a reborn person who had graduated more than ten years ago, she couldn't concentrate on these books at all. She fell asleep while flipping through them and the book fell to the ground.
When Gu Shi finished his work and came in, he found that the mother and son were asleep.
He picked up the book from the floor and put it on the table.
He took another blanket from the cupboard and draped it over her. He glanced at the mother and child one last time before leaving.
When Luo Zhengzheng woke up, she looked at the blanket covering her, yawned, sat up and looked at the bed. Her son was still fast asleep. She got up and woke him up so that he wouldn't sleep too much and have trouble sleeping at night.
Little Jiajia wasn't mad when mom woke him up. He rolled around a few times until he landed in his mom's arms, hugged her affectionately, and asked, "Where's Dad?"
Luo Zhengzheng dressed him and said, "Let's go out and find Dad."
Seeing that the mother and son had come out, Gu Shi asked Luo Zhengzheng, "Should we go out to eat, or should we have Guo Yao order the meal?"
Luo Zhengzheng glanced outside: "Let's go out to eat. I've been stuck in the office all morning and it's too stuffy. Let's get some fresh air."
It went without saying Gu Shi agreed. The couple ate out before Luo Zhengzheng then took her son home.
