RHTB 6

Chapter 6

"If you get hungry tonight, just tell Xiao Li. she can make you a late-night snack."

"Okay, thank you, boss."

Xiaoyuan and Xiaomei turned and went into the small building.

Tang Yao then led the family of three to the building across the street.

The young couple fell in love with the quiet and elegant room as soon as they stepped inside.

Xiao Ling also gave the little girl an adorable plush toy, which the little girl loved a lot. She gave Xiao Li and Tang Yao a sweet smile. The cuteness was to the max.

Tang Yao couldn't help but pat the little tuft of hair on her head.

Night fell and the guesthouse lit up.

The octagonal palace lanterns brought back from ancient times hung quietly in every corner, casting a soft glow over the guesthouse.

Xiaoyuan opened the window after washing up and saw this scene.

"Xiaomei, come and see! The boss’s lights are so beautiful!"

Drying her hair, Xiaomei walked over.

"They are ancient palace lanterns and the paintings on each one seem to be different!"

"That's a painting of a lady, isn't it? It's so beautifully painted."

"And there are two kittens in that one too, so lifelike and cute!"

The two excitedly discussed it from their window.

A family of three in the building across the street also witnessed this scene from their window. Their exclamations of amazement never ceasing.

They all felt fortunate to have chosen this guesthouse.

That night, everyone fell asleep to the fragrance of plants and flowers.

The young couple woke up to the rising sun, only to belatedly realize that their daughter hadn't cried all night.

She was now sleeping soundly, clutching her toy. Her little face flushed, looking incredibly adorable.

The couple exchanged a glance, both seeing surprise in each other's eyes.

For breakfast, Xiao Li cooked congee and a few side dishes. All made with the freshest seasonal ingredients.

Xiao Li's recipes and knowledge of seasonal vegetables were comprehensive. Even if one asked her to cook a full-course meal, she could do it quickly.

Her learning ability was very strong; she had already learned to go out to buy groceries and haggle like a human.

This meal was free, so Xiaomei and Xiaoyuan ate their fill and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

They were reluctant to leave, but they had class tomorrow and had to get back to school tonight.

"Xiaomei, your pimples are gone!" Xiaoyuan suddenly remarked.

"Really? How come they disappeared so quickly this time? Usually, it takes a few days," Xiaomei said, somewhat surprised.

The two vaguely felt it was related to this guesthouse, but they had no evidence.

After Xiaoyuan and Xiaoyuan finished breakfast, the family of three also got ready and came to eat.

The little girl had a big appetite, eating most of a bowl of congee and two rolled pancakes. Her eyes were drawn to the glass room, finding everything new and exciting.

The young couple loved traveling and food, had been to many places, and tasted many delicacies. They could tell from the first bite that the ingredients here were very fresh and the chef's skill was excellent.

After lunch, they immediately found Tang Yao and extended their stay for another night.

Around noon, Xiaoyuan and Xiaomei reluctantly checked out. Tang Yao gave each of them a handmade sachet filled with various dried flowers and plants, emitting a faint herbal scent.

"This sachet can soothe the nerves and help you sleep," she said.

The sachets also featured delicate embroidery, which was all done by Tang Yao in her spare time. Xiaoyuan and Xiaomei loved them and immediately hung them on their keychains.

Back home, Xiaomei posted photos and text about the trip on Weibo.

Even without editing, the photos looked like a paradise. The glass room bathed in sunlight was breathtakingly beautiful, while the octagonal lanterns at night added a touch of mystery to the guesthouse.

Xiaomei wasn't a major influencer, so her photos and posts received very few views. It was mostly from classmates or family.

However, those who did see them were basically captivated and left comments saying they wanted to check it out.

One of the travel bloggers, after seeing this Weibo post, immediately decided on her next destination.

After returning home, Xiaomei and Xiaoyuan hung the sachet Tang Yao had given them in their dorm room.

“What’s this? It smells really good,” their roommate Xiaohuo said, fiddling with the sachet as she leaned against the headboard.

“It was a gift from the owner of the amazing guesthouse we found. Apparently, it can calm the nerves and help you sleep,” Xiaomei said excitedly.

Turning her head, she noticed the dark circles under her roommate’s eyes.

“Are you still having trouble sleeping? Don’t think so much. You've been working so hard, you’ll definitely pass the exam,” Xiaomei asked with concern.

Xiaohuo was currently preparing for her exam, a major event concerning her future. She was so nervous that she hadn’t slept for a few nights.

"There's nothing I can do. When I close my eyes, all I can think about are exam questions. If I don't pass this exam, my mom will pressure me to go home and get married after graduation to get a dowry for my younger brother." Xiaohuo laid on her back on the bed and listlessly stared blankly at the ceiling.

Xiaomei and the others knew a little about Xiaohuo's family situation. They lived in the countryside and the whole family favored boys over girls. If Xiaohuo hadn't worked hard and passed the exam, she probably wouldn't even have the opportunity to study now.

That was why she worked so hard, doing odd jobs to earn a living in addition to her studies. This was why Xiaomei and Xiaoyuan hadn't asked her to go to Wanhua Town with them.

However, this was ultimately someone else's family matter. Xiaomei didn't say much.

She simply took the sachet Tang Yao had given her and hung it above Xiaohuo's bed: "The exam is tomorrow. You can borrow this. Hopefully, it'll help you sleep well."

"Thank you," Xiaohuo turned her head, secretly wiping away her tears, and smiled at Xiaomei.

A faint fragrance wafted from the sachet, lingered near Xiaohuo's nose, and offered a glimmer of relief to her tense emotions.

Because of tomorrow’s exam, she unusually went to bed early and prepared for another bout of insomnia.

But unconsciously, her thoughts began to drift.

When she opened her eyes again, she was woken up. Xiaomei and Xiaoyuan stood by her bedside, looking at her with some concern.

"Are you alright? We've been calling you for ages. Get up, the exam's starting soon."

"However, this sachet really works! You actually fell asleep," Xiaomei said happily.

Only then, Xiaohuo caught on. She patted herself to awake her slow head. She had actually slept well! Her energy was better than ever!

The three of them, without prior arrangement, all looked at the small, exquisite sachet on the bedside table.

...

Tang Yao was completely unaware of this. She was busy taking inventory of her spatial storage.

In the morning, she wanted to retrieve a piece of cloth from her spatial storage, but it took her quite a while to find it.

Her spatial storage was overflowing with items. This wasn't the first time this had happened, prompting her to reorganize it.

While organizing, she discovered that many things were items she had impulsively hoarded, with large quantities of the same type.

There were also many medicinal herbs of questionable quality.

Before she knew it, she had gathered a considerable amount of stuff, including a burlap sack full of extremely poor-quality ginseng and lingzhi.

This was only the tip of the iceberg of her supplies.

She dragged the items to the backyard. As she had done in the cultivation world, she fed them all to her poultry. Although of poor quality, these items still contained a small amount of spiritual energy, which the poultry loved.

And the poultry that had eaten these items had incredibly delicious meat, a flavor incomparable to ordinary meat.

She still had plenty of medicinal herbs and even spiritual plants in her spatial storage, richer in spiritual energy, so Tang Yao didn't feel any remorse.

At this moment, the family of three came over for a visit and initially noticed nothing amiss

But when the young man got closer and took a look, he froze on the spot.

“Boss, what… what are you feeding them?” The young man’s voice was trembling.

“This… isn’t this ginseng? Boss… do your pigs eat ginseng?” The young woman was equally incredulous.

And looking at the stone troughs for the poultry, there were still some leftover ginseng roots from the last time. It was clear the owner had done this before.

The two suddenly felt the prices were ridiculously low.

“These are all defective products. I give them extra food occasionally,” Tang Yao explained, seeing their astonishment.

Even if they were defective, the guesthouse was probably the first to feed poultry this.

Amidst their surprise, the young couple didn’t forget to take photos.

The family of three stayed at the guesthouse for three days before reluctantly checking out and leaving.

Before leaving, Tang Yao gave each of them a small handmade trinket.

Wanhua Town, a flower-themed tourist town, was quite well-known in the area, attracting many tourists on weekends and holidays.

Tang Yao's guesthouse had been vacant for a long time since her parents' passing. Being a newly registered online business, it didn't have many guests yet. However, once someone stayed one night, they would enthusiastically recommend it to everyone in the neighborhood.

Tang Yao's main goal wasn't to make money, so the number of guests didn't affect her mood much.

She spent her days doing handicrafts, basking in the sun, farming, drinking tea, and admiring the flowers.

It could be said that life in this town was the most pleasant she had experienced in all her years of transmigrating.

At this moment, she stood on her own land, facing a grove of recently planted fruit trees of various varieties. They were already blooming with flowers of various colors.

Seeing the fruit trees, Tang Yao was reminded of her eccentric martial uncle from the cultivation world. His talent was average, but he was exceptionally skilled at tending plants and trees. Tang Yao still remembered the taste of those fruits and vegetables; although they wouldn't taste as good in this world as they did in the cultivation world, they would probably taste much better than this world’s.

She had obtained all her seeds and saplings from her martial uncle.

The flowers emitted a delicate fragrance. Tang Yao, lost in memories, couldn't help but smile.

Meanwhile, a young woman carrying a selfie stick and a sports backpack was walking down the street of Wan Hua Town.

Her phone was pointed directly at the flower-lined street.

"...The air here is very fresh, and there are so many kinds of flowers. It's a great place to relax in your free time," the woman said, turning the camera towards herself.

The flashing red dot on the camera indicated that she was recording.

"Before I knew it, I'd reached the edge of town. There's a small shop over there; I'll go buy a bottle of water."

The young girl said, heading towards Aunt Li's shop.

While the girl was browsing inside, Tang Yao entered carrying a bowl.
