3RYB 20

 Chapter 20

Jiang Lechuan signed very quickly. His hands were so fast, sparks almost came out. However, his expression became more and more in despair.

He thought he could leave after signing, but more and more people came to the scene.

More and more came.

More came.

More.

It wasn't just the students of the school. Because he was standing at the entrance, passers-by surrounded the school gate.

Some people uploaded the photos and videos they took to the Internet and fans and passers-by living nearby quickly came to watch. Jiang Lechuan's top star identity and strength was self-evident at this moment.

In the end, the security guards forcibly closed the school gate.

A security guard drove an electric four-wheeled vehicle that they usually used for patrol and sent the ‘culprit’, Jiang Lechuan, to the teaching building.

The car drove slowly into the campus. The students still followed behind. After all, they were all students of the school. Under the persuasion of the security guards, there was no more exaggerated blockade scene and they all kept a certain distance from Jiang Lechuan.

Jiang Lechuan opened the car window, leaned his head, and shouted to Mu Yuan, who was following the car with an expressionless face not far away: "Younger Brother! Which classroom is yours?"

It hadn't been settled yet! How was he going to attend the parent-teacher meeting!

Mu Yuan didn't want to pay attention to him.

But who among the students of No. 1 High School didn't know the location of the key class? A group of people rushed to shout and told Jiang Lechuan the answer.

Jiang Lechuan thanked them and waved to Mu Yuan: "We're going to be late, so Elder Brother is going ahead! You hurry up too!"

Mu Yuan: "..."

He really didn't want to follow Jiang Lechuan. Really!

But now there were so many people watching. If he turned around and directly went home, the majority of the students from No. 1 High School would stop him and ask him why he didn't wait for Jiang Lechuan.

So Mu Yuan was now forced to speed up and follow, preparing to wait for Jiang Lechuan at the door of his class.

At least the students in his class were all focused on studying and didn't have such a strong interest in gossip and chasing stars.

Even if they wanted to chase, they probably wouldn't like Jiang Lechuan.

Probably.

Mu Yuan made a mistake.

There were already students filling the corridor, waiting for Jiang Lechuan to arrive.

This was until Jiang Lechaun entered the classroom. The homeroom teacher standing on the podium had heard that a big star was about to come to his class for the parent-teacher meeting. Upon the sight of Jiang Lechuan coming in, he quickly drew all the curtains of the classroom tightly.

Disappointed voices were heard at the scene. Everyone temporarily left this floor under the persuasion of the security guard.

Only Jiang Lechuan and some students who originally belonged to this class were left here.

Among them was a female classmate who Mu Yuan had not spoken to for three years. She blushed and asked him if he could help her get a signature from Jiang Lechuan.

Mu Yuan said in a low voice: "He will come out."

She could go and ask for it herself.

The girl understood what Mu Yuan meant and could only awkwardly stand aside and continue to wait.

Although they were classmates, the others were not familiar with Mu Yuan. Seeing that a girl had hit a wall, no one dared to step forward.

Until——

A slightly chubby boy ignored the persuasion by his classmates, "Don't go. You know his personality” and "He didn't agree to Xiaomei, so how can he agree to you?”

Still, he mustered up the courage to walk up to Mu Yuan.

Mu Yuan glanced at him and vaguely remembered that the person in front of him was a classmate of his, but they had never spoken.

The boy whispered: "Mu Yuan, hello! I am a fan of Elder Sister Gu Qi. I have liked her since I first saw her in the cinema a few years ago. I have watched every one of her works. Can you please tell Elder Sister for me that she is truly great and I will always support her!"

Silence.

Mu Yuan raised her head and looked into the eyes of the boy in front of him.

The boy didn't know why, but he suddenly shuddered uncontrollably.

He began to feel annoyed. What was he thinking? He actually came to Mu Yuan to help convey this kind of idol chasing ‘nonsense’. The other party was Mu Yuan. He will definitely not agree!

So he took a step back and quickly added: "Treat it like I didn't say it..."

But Mu Yuan interrupted him and asked: "Do you want my elder sister's autograph?"

Boy: "?"

He didn't say this, did he?

The boy's eyes instantly widened. His brain cell wasn't enough.

He couldn't understand why Mu Yuan, who was always cold and aloof, would take the initiative to ask for a signed photo of Gu Qi for him. Still, he was so excited that he couldn't even speak and could only nod his head like a chicken pecking at rice.

Mu Yuan turned his face away, no longer looking at him, and said: "Understood."

When the boy returned to his friends, he was completely at a loss, as if he could hardly walk.

However, when his friends asked him what Mu Yuan said to him, the boy suddenly realized that Mu Yuan was looking in their direction. There was a hint of impatience on his face.

So the truth that was on the tip of his tongue wasn't spoken in the end. The boy waved his hand: "He...he told me to be quiet."

There was laughter all around. No one doubted the truth of this sentence. After all, it sounded like something Mu Yuan could say.

The boy breathed a sigh of relief at once.

Nonsense! Mu Yuan seemed to be such a trouble-averse person. He didn't know what kind of shit luck he had that Mu Yuan actually offered to give him Gu Qi's autographed photo. If everyone surrounded him and asked him for this and that, Mu Yuan would be annoyed and regretful. Who would he cry to!

In the classroom.

Jiang Lechuan was experiencing the dream treatment of the ‘good student's guardian’.

He sat in the position with the best view in the class. One must know, when he was in school, he wanted to sit in the front row, but this was the treatment only good students had. Now, thanks to Mu Yuan, he sat in this position for the first time in his life!

However at that time, Jiang Lechuan had his own special treatment. He was the only one in the class who didn't have a deskmate and sat alone at the podium...

Pah, he was getting off topic.

Jiang Lechuan shook his head and threw these ‘unbearable’ pasts out of his mind. Under the gaze of countless parents, he took off his face mask, showed a very standard and confident smile, and signed his name on the record sheet of the parent-teacher meeting.

Because Jiang Lechuan was the last ‘parent’ to arrive and the homeroom teacher was already standing on the podium to speak, the record book was temporarily placed with him.

Jiang Lechuan came here full of expectations, but he couldn't help yawning the moment he saw the homeroom teacher standing on the podium.

No, no, he couldn't look at the teacher. He would get sleepy when he looked at him.

The homeroom teacher had already started to describe the teaching plan for this semester. Jiang Lechuan wasn't interested in these, so he could only cross his thighs and try to find something to divert his attention.

The record sheet in front of him became the best choice.

So Jiang Lechuan opened it and found that this sheet recorded the attendance to every parent-teacher meeting and each sheet was ranked by total score.

Every time Jiang Lechuan turned over a sheet, Mu Yuan was the first.

Amid countless ‘envious’ eyes, he instantly became more proud and stood up straighter.

But suddenly, Jiang Lechuan realized that something was wrong.

He carefully flipped through the record book from beginning to end to confirm.

It was normal for one or two parents to be absent from parent-teacher meetings occasionally.

But for more than two years.

There had never been a signature of his uncle or paternal aunt beside Mu Yuan's name.

That was to say, no one had ever come to a parent-teacher meeting for Mu Yuan.

No wonder all the parents were looking at him.

It turned out that they were not envious of Mu Yuan's good grades, but were surprised to see Mu Yuan's family for the first time.

Jiang Lechuan felt incomprehensible.

His parents disliked him for causing too many troubles in school. It was either tearing off the principal's wig or breaking the classroom glass. Therefore, they rarely came to the parent-teacher conference, usually asking the assistant or driver to attend instead.

But Mu Yuan was different.

Jiang Lechuan could imagine that if he could get the first place in the grade once, his parents would have to put on suits and formal wear and turn down many meetings to attend the parent-teacher conference for him. How ‘face-garnering’ this would be.

So when the parent-teacher conference ended and the homeroom teacher said ‘Parents with problems can stay for further discussion’, Jiang Lechuan was the first to rush out from his seat and run to the podium.

Half an hour later.

Seeing that other students had been taken home by their parents and only he was left, Mu Yuan couldn't help it and glanced into the classroom through the half-open back door.

Just one look made Mu Yuan witness the weird scene that he would have nightmares about tonight.

Jiang Lechuan and his homeroom teacher were left in the classroom. The two stood on the podium.

Jiang Lechuan's hand was on the shoulder of his 40-year-old homeroom teacher. The two of them were close together. It was unknown what they were talking about, but the atmosphere seemed very relaxed and happy.

Then Jiang Lechuan picked up his homeroom teacher's mobile phone and made a ‘yeah’ gesture to the screen, obviously taking a photo.

Finally, the two of them parted.

Jiang Lechuan patted his homeroom teacher's shoulder and waved goodbye with a jolly grin on his face.

And his homeroom teacher, who always had a stern face, smiled and bidded goodbye to Jiang Lechuan: "See you next time."

Mu Yuan: "..."

He seemed to be blind. There should be no next time for such a thing!

Before Mu Yuan could react, Jiang Lechuan hollered as soon as he walked out of the front door: "Mu Yuan! Where are you? Let’s go home!"

Unwilling, Mu Yuan could only walk up to Jiang Lechuan from the back door.

Jiang Lechuan put his hand on his shoulder, saying: "There is a good news and a bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?"

Mu Yuan didn't want to hear either.

But when he met Jiang Lechuan's eyes full of ‘expectation’, Mu Yuan knew very well that Jiang Lechuan was the kind of person who wouldn't give up until he achieved his goal, so he could only reluctantly respond: "Bad news."

Jiang Lechuan said seriously: "The bad news is that it's late now. The restaurant we talked about before was closed. I wanted to take you there."

Mu Yuan thought this was obviously good news, because he didn't want to have dinner with Jiang Lechuan at all.

Jiang Lechuan continued on to what he thought was good news, saying: "The good news is that I just found out that the owner of that restaurant is actually my team leader's paternal eldest uncle. They agreed to make an exception for us! Let's go now!"

Mu Yuan: "..."

This was the bad news!

Mu Yuan was just trying to find a reason to refuse. Although it was troublesome to refuse someone, he already knew that there was nothing more terrifying in this world than interacting with Jiang Lechuan.

Mu Yuan was about to speak, but Jiang Lechuan received a call first. He said, "Yes, Xiaoyuan and I are about to go out. Where shall we meet later?"

Gu Qi's voice was on the other end of the phone. She responded, "I'm still on the way. There's a bit of traffic here. Let's meet at the restaurant."

Jiang Lechuan agreed, hung up the phone, looked at Mu Yuan, and asked, "What did you want to say just now?"

Mu Yuan slightly paused before shaking his head.

Jiang Lechuan didn't get to the bottom of it and took Mu Yuan to the car first.

Yes, it was Gu Qi's car.

Mu Yuan finally couldn't help it and asked, "Why are you driving Elder Sister's car?"

Of course, what he wanted to ask more was...why did Jiang Lechuan come today instead of Gu Qi.

Mu Yuan knew Jiang Lechuan. No matter what he asked him, he would say everything he should and shouldn't say.

As expected, Jiang Lechuan answered while fastening his seat belt: "My car was sent for repair, so I drove hers. I wanted to come with her, but she had work to do so she gave it to me first. Her shoot seemed to be going well today, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to make it to dinner with us."

As Jiang Lechuan responded, he looked up at the coffee truck that had basically closed its ‘business’ not far away. All of the sudden, he picked up a bag and handed it to Mu Yuan, saying: "Here, yours."

Looking at the ordinary insulation bag in front of him, Mu Yuan reluctantly stretched out his hand to take it. The moment he opened it, his expressionless face was covered with a layer of haze.

At a glance, he saw the exaggerated ‘Mu Yuan No.1’ on the cup.

It was exactly the same as the one on that vehicle. So scary.

Mu Yuan put it aside with great disdain, not having any intention of drinking it.

Jiang Lechuan didn't notice it either. He drove while happily sharing with Mu Yuan the interesting things that happened at the parent teacher meeting. This included him discovering Mu Yuan's homeroom teacher's mobile wallpaper was actually a photo of the youngest member of his team. After asking, he found out that his homeroom teacher's daughter was a fan of their group.

So Jiang Lechuan sold out his teammates and promised to send his teammates' autographed photos to Mu Yuan's homeroom teacher's daughter. He even added the homeroom teacher on WeChat.

Mu Yuan couldn't stand it anymore when he heard this: "... There's no need to add contact information."

Jiang Lechuan replied as a matter of course: "Paternal Aunt is usually very busy, so if there is any matter in the future, I can come."

Mu Yuan didn't think that anything would happen to him at school that would require the homeroom teacher to contact the parents, let alone contact Jiang Lechuan.

But he didn't want to say anything anymore as he didn't want to listen to Jiang Lechuan's analysis and reasons.

Mu Yuan chose to shut up, and prayed in his heart that Jiang Lechuan could be quiet.

Of course, theHeaven couldn't hear his prayers.

Jiang Lechuan continued to chatter to himself all the way. Even when Mu Yuan didn't pay much attention to him, he almost didn't stop from beginning to end.

Until the car stopped in front of the restaurant.

Jiang Lechuan waved his phone and said that Gu Qi was waiting for them inside. As soon as the two of them entered the restaurant, they were greeted by the manager and  were taken to the second floor.

Because it was past the normal business hours, it was equivalent to a private room and there were no other customers.

Jiang Lechuan pulled off his face mask and walked upstairs.

Mu Yuan followed him.

Second floor.

Gu Qi sat by the window. She had ordered a drink and was biting the straw at the moment, staring out the window as if in a daze.

"Elder Sister!" Jiang Lechuan enviously shouted and strode toward her.

Looking at Jiang Lechuan and Mu Yuan following behind Jiang Lechuan. Gu Qi thought of the text message Jiang Lechuan had just sent her.

[What the feck! Paternal Aunt and Uncle didn't attend any of Mu Yuan's parent-teacher meeting]

[I asked his homeroom teacher, and he said that Paternal Aunt and Uncle were always busy]

[For example, last time... and the time before that... how could it be such a coincidence]

…

Jiang Lechuan was shocked, and so was Gu Qi.

Because in their eyes, Mu Yuan's parents were very, very good people. They both had the beautiful qualities of hardworking, honesty, gentleness, and kindness.

And Paternal Aunt and Uncle almost never quarreled. They were always emotionally stable and smiling. Not only Gu Qi and Jiang Lechuan, but even Wen Renjing, they all envied Mu Yuan's family to some extent.

But they didn't expect that it was because they were so kind and treated everyone so well that their only son was the one who was ignored the most.

Mu Yuan had excellent grades, so as parents, they didn't need to worry about anything. Instead of attending Mu Yuan's parent-teacher meeting to see the report card that never changed and always ranked first, they would rather take care of sick neighbors, help rural relatives harvest corn fields, and even rescue stray kittens.

Mu Yuan's birthday was during the New Year period. One year, Gu Qi had a high fever during that period. It was Paternal Aunt who took care of her throughout it. Uncle was a Buddhist and even went to climb mountains to pray for her. They had both ignored Mu Yuan's birthday.

Gu Qi felt guilty when she knew it at the time, but she thought that this kind of thing was an occasional exception. But now it seems that for Mu Yuan, it may be common for his parents to ignore him for ‘outsiders’.

Obviously he was a genius who could excel at everything to everyone, but he was still ignored by his parents again and again in life. This made him more and more withdrawn.

Thinking of this, Gu Qi felt a little complicated.

At this moment, Jiang Lechuan sent another WeChat message: [Paternal Aunt treated us so well, so we’ll take care of Mu Yuan! ]

At this moment.

Gu Qi was interrupted by Jiang Lechuan's shout. She was about to look up and scold Jiang Lechuan as usual, telling him to speak softly and not make such a loud noise in public. She suddenly thought of the flag she set before coming here.

To be a good sister, to be gentle, to smile more. She really needed to learn from Shen Anran in this regard.

If she alway scolded and lectured Younger Brother with a stern face, This would definitely make them hate her more and more.

Thinking of this, Gu Qi reluctantly suppressed the scolding that was about to come out of her mouth.

She took a deep breath, stood up, looked at Jiang Lechuan and Mu Yuan, showed them what she thought was the most gentle smile, and said: "You’re here. Come and order food."

However, Jiang Lechuan halted at this moment.

He looked back and then hid behind Mu Yuan at lightning speed.

He was a tall fella. At this moment he was trying hard to hide himself behind Mu Yuan, daring to show only a pair of eyes: "I'm sorry, Elder Sister! I was wrong! I will definitely control myself in the future and never speak so loudly in public again! Sorry!"

Gu Qi: "?"

What was Jiang Lechuan doing? Was her smile so scary?

Gu Qi's smile collapsed. While, Jiang Lechuan breathed a sigh of relief and murmured: "That's how it should be. Why are you smiling at me out of the blue. I was scared to death."

The smile didn’t disappear, it would transfer.

Gu Qi smiled and Jiang Lechuan didn't dare to smile.

Gu Qi stopped smiling, and Jiang Lechuan started to grin again.

Gu Qi: "...Even if you stand so far away and talk, I can hear you."

Jiang Lechuan's face showed a look of fear again.

Gu Qi couldn't understand it at all: "Is it so scary for you to smile at you?"

Although she knew that her smile had nothing to do with sunshine and gentleness, it shouldn’t be to the point of Jiang Lechuan’s exaggerated reaction.

When asked this question, Jiang Lechuan was stunned for a moment. He rubbed the back of his head and answered: "It's mainly because I have watched your movie many times before. You showed such a smile in it and then killed all the male and female lead. That was my childhood, oh no, childhood shadow."

In that movie, Gu Qi played a psychopathic murderer with an antisocial personality.

The director told her to imagine herself as a good person and show a happy smile that fulfilled her life dream.

To some extent, what Jiang Lechuan said wasn't wrong.

Gu Qi smiled again, grabbed the knife and fork in front of her, and said, "I'll kill you now."

And at this moment.

Mu Yuan suddenly uttered, "Didn’t."

Jiang Lechuan and Gu Qi turned to him at the same time.

Mu Yuan's hand grabbed the school uniform pants somewhat self consciously and his fingertips rubbed slightly to relieve the slightly anxious mood for some reason. After a few seconds of silence, he continued, "I think Elder Sister... looks pretty when smiling."

Jiang Lechuan: "!?"

He had been smiling at Mu Yuan until now, right? Why didn't this kid praise him for being handsome?

Gu Qi: "?"

Mu Yuan praised her? Huh?

The siblings were both shocked.

Jiang Lechuan reacted first and directly blurted: "What about me? Isn't it a great honor for such a handsome elder brother to attend a parent-teacher meeting for you? Why don't you praise me?"

Mu Yuan turned his head away, obviously not wanting to pay attention to Jiang Lechuan.

Jiang Lechuan was about to get close to him again, insisting on getting an answer for his handsome face.

Gu Qi spoke up in time to stop this ridiculous farce and told them to come to the table and order the food first.

This restaurant was really worthy of its reputation. The dishes were both beautiful and delicious.

After a day of filming, Gu Qi had nothing to eat except coffee. She was already starving. At this moment, she threw away all the thoughts of establishing a gentle and good sister persona. Everything had to wait until she was full before talking about anything!

Jiang Lechuan buried his head in the food and almost choked in the attempt to snatch the last shrimp with Gu Qi.

Mu Yuan: "..."

Though having mixed feelings, he still handed Jiang Lechuan a glass of water. He couldn't just stand by and watch him die.

Jiang Lechuan barely recovered after drinking the water and burped loudly.

Gu Qi and Mu Yuan showed disgust on their faces at the same time and even made eye contact.

Mu Yuan looked at Gu Qi, without the slightest intention of looking away.

Gu Qi: "!"

She had a feeling that she should say something now.

So Gu Qi could only wipe her mouth and restore to elegant mode in a second, as if the person who just lost to Jiang Lechuan in the shrimp snatching wasn't her. She squeezed out a sentence to Mu Yuan: "Don't learn from him."

Mu Yuan nodded, but suddenly opened his mouth: "Elder Sister, I have a classmate who is your fan. He wants an autographed...photo."

Gu Qi didn't expect Mu Yuan to ask for an autographed photo for his classmate, which meant that he had friends at school? !

Gu Qi thought this was a good direction for development and readily agreed: "Okay, I'll bring it to you next time after I sign it."

Mu Yuan replied: "Okay."

At this moment, Jiang Lechuan's phone suddenly vibrated. He picked it up and took a glance, put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and replied to the message very seriously.

Gu Qi asked him curiously: "Who were you replying to?"

After Jiang Lechuan replied to the WeChat, he turned the phone upside down on the table and smiled: "Mu Yuan's homeroom teacher sent me a message."

Mu Yuan: "?"

Gu Qi: "?"

A sentence popped up in both of their minds at the same time: What could they talk about?

Gu Qi couldn't understand, while Mu Yuan recalled the strange scene of extrovert Jiang Lechuan putting his hand on his homeroom teacher's shoulder. The two of them were of different generations but they were as harmonious as ‘good brothers’.

Jiang Lechuan told them: "This Friday, the school will hold a campus sports meeting. Each student can bring two family members to sign up. First place can get a computer!"

He stood up. He held Mu Yuan's hand with his left hand, took the fork from Gu Qi's hand with his right hand, and held it, solemnly declaring: "We! We are one family!"
