Chapter 68 Luo Jin’s Previous Life

Luo Jin was sent to kindergarten when she was three years old. Looking at her classmates who couldn't even count to one hundred, she looked down at the exercise book on solid geometry in her hand and felt the huge difference between people for the first time.

It was then that she realized that she was a genetically modified human created by the emerging science ‘Gene Modification Program’ a few years ago. Many couples with excellent genes participated in this program. Her mother was one of them.

However, this program didn’t cause much waves, because most children didn’t show obvious differences from ordinary people after birth. Only a small number of people's IQs could be seen to have improved.

Like Luo Jin, whose IQ and physical fitness have been exaggeratedly improved, was an exception.

Luo Jin wasn't only intelligent, but also fast, agile, and had amazing strength.

In the back garden of her home, she casually caught a butterfly. In order to prevent it from escaping, she tore it in half.

Mother Luo looked at her daughter in shock. Abruptly, she raised her hand and slapped her in the face.

Little Luo Jin's face instantly became red and swollen. She asked with tears in her eyes, "Why did you hit me?"

Mother Luo said angrily, "How can you do such a perverted thing? Do you know that you look abnormal? Don't do this in the future. I don't want others to think that my daughter is abnormal!"

Little Luo Jin ran out crying. Then she saw her elder sister, Luo Xin coming back. She threw herself into Luo Xin's arms and told her what happened just now with grievance.

Luo Xin carried her to sit on the sofa, poured her a glass of water, and helped her wipe away her tears.

Elder Sister was 15 years older than her and had already gone to college. She held her gently and whispered, "Let me tell you, small animals will also feel pain. Don't hurt the small animals around you in the future, okay?"

Little Luo Jin nodded, "Okay, I'll listen to Elder Sister."

Since Luo Jin could remember, Luo Xin especially liked to talk to her. She spoke gently and always with a smile.

Little Luo Jin likes her elder sister a lot. While she was a little afraid of her mother who was always stern.

One day, little Luo Jin heard her elder sister and mother quarreling. She rarely saw her elder sister lose her temper.

"Delete all the videos you posted about Luo Jin online! This is dangerous for her, you know?" Luo Xin furiously stared at her mother.

But Mother Luo didn't think so. "My daughter is smart. What's wrong with posting it? It can also help increase traffic to my psychotherapy room."

"But what if she is seen by bad guys?"

"Don't worry. The security of the community is good."

"What if it's a powerful bad guy?"

"Are you crazy?"

Mother Luo still liked to take videos of little Luo Jin, but little Luo Jin remembered how her elder sister would be unhappy. As soon as she saw the camera pointing at her, she lowered her head and refused to do anything.

Mother Luo became displeased.

Luo Jin knew that her elder sister Luo Xin was a writer. She had written many novels on the Internet and many of them remained on the bookshelf.

She secretly changed a name in the book to her own name while her elder sister's computer was on. Toward this prank, she felt accomplished.

On the day the novel was published, Luo Xin saw her younger sister's name appearing in the novel.

She smiled, "Xiao Jin is amazing. She can type before she is five years old."

One day when Luo Jin was five years old, she witnessed a group of people suddenly break into her home. She was strong and knocked a few down, but there were many people on the other side. She struggled and was still drugged and lost consciousness.

Later, she was awakened by a sharp pain.

She couldn't see anything, she only felt that her hands and feet were buckled by cold and hard metal rings. Feeling a piercing pain on her back, she couldn't help struggling.

"Oh, awake." It was an unknown woman's voice.

"Who are you?" Little Luo Jin was scared, "Where's Elder Sister? I want to go home!"

The woman's voice was full of amusement, "My last name is Su. You can call me Dr. Su. Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. I want to extract your bone marrow and blood for research. Go home? This may not be possible, you will never have to go home again."

Her voice was like a devil, "By the way, there are still two tubes of bone marrow left. How did you wake up? How troublesome... Anesthetics have side effects on the brain, so I can only extract it directly."

Little Luo Jin only felt something cold and sharp piercing her bones. She screamed in pain and fainted again. When she woke up again, she felt extremely cold. She couldn't see anything, but she could feel the water flowing around her. Her body was bound by various things. So heavy. She couldn't move at all. The stimulation of the electric current from time to time made her cry in pain, but she couldn't do anything. There was no day or night in such a painful life. She didn't know how long she had been like this. Though she had no food or water, she didn't feel hungry or thirsty. She felt something flowing into her body through her blood vessels. It wasn't until she was pulled out of the water and the instruments on her body were unplugged that she saw the place where she had been before. It was a huge glass container filled with various data cables. There was a ‘sizzling’ sound from time to time.

Her body was weak and she had no strength to resist. She was pressed on the laboratory table again.

The familiar pain came. The needle pierced into her bones again. She fainted again.

"Elder Sister, come and save me..."

"Elder Sister, I want to go home..."

"It hurts so much..."

After a long time, she heard gunshots outside.

Soon, there was a sound of glass being smashed around her. She was picked up by a pair of warm hands. The things that blocked her vision were also taken off.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Luo Xin.

Luo Xin's eyes were filled with tears, "I'm sorry, I'm late..."

"I'll take you home!"

Little Luo Jin smiled, but she only took one when a man's roar was heard, "Run!"

Luo Xin was stunned for a moment before abruptly pressing little Luo Jin under her body and hugged her tightly.

Little Luo Jin heard her elder sister's voice.

"Xiao Jin, you have to... love this world."

"Only if you love this world can it exist."

The air was full of blood. Little Luo Jin didn't know what happened. When she was taken out of Luo Xin's arms, she saw her elder sister lying there, covered in blood and motionless.

The man holding her was a middle-aged man, who shouted angrily: "This pervert actually installed a mechanism on the child! Ambulance! Ambulance!"

Although little Luo Jin was only five years old, her IQ was equivalent to that of an adult.

She quickly understood what happened and struggled to jump out of the man's arms. But she had no strength left. In the end, the man carried her out and put her in the rescue helicopter.

After Luo Xin's funeral, little Luo Jin became as silent as before.

One day, Mother Luo found that all the mice in Father Luo's laboratory at home were gone.

Soon, she found the bodies of these mice in the trash can and their hearts were all peeled out. The technique was clean and neat, without any extra tissue extracted.

Furious, she found little Luo Jin and slapped her again, "How can you do such a weird thing!"

Little Luo Jin didn't cry or look at her, just sat there blankly.

Mother Luo's scalp was numb. She felt that the problem was getting worse.

When Luo Jin was seven years old, she went to elementary school. Both Father Luo and Mother Luo were busy and had no time to take care of her, so they sent her to boarding school.

Luo Jin was reading her book quietly. She found today a little strangely quiet. Zhang Lili, her deskmate who used to talk to her every day, was silent today and didn't come to disturb her.

"What's wrong with you?" Luo Jin asked Zhang Lili.

Zhang Lili looked at her with fear in her eyes, and whispered: "Yesterday, the new math teacher told me to go to his dormitory for extra lessons. He took off my clothes, and I... it hurts. I'm afraid he will ask me to go again today."

Luo Jin's face changed, "What did you say?"

Although she was only seven years old, her intelligence level was far beyond that of ordinary college students. Ordinary children didn't understand this kind of thing, but she was clear.

After school in the afternoon, the math teacher came again. He grinned to Zhang Lili: "You have to go to make-up classes today too!"

Luo Jin raised her cute and well-behaved face, "The teacher is biased. I want make up classes too!"

The math teacher stared at Luo Jin's face and grinned: "Okay, then you go to make-up classes today.”

Zhang Lili looked at Luo Jin's back with gratitude. Later, the more she thought about it, the more that something was wrong. So she ran to find the head teacher.

The head teacher heard Zhang Lili's story and felt a buzz in his head.

"This pervert!" The head teacher gritted his teeth and called the police. Then he called the guard and several teachers and broke into the math teacher's dormitory together.

The scene in front of them was unforgettable to everyone for a lifetime.

The math teacher was lying in a pool of blood, while a seven-year-old girl was holding a plate of bloody things to his mouth, as if feeding him.

The math teacher was quickly sent to the hospital. Because the organs were cut too small, they  couldn't be put back together. He would never be able to have children again in his life.

The police arrived quickly and handcuffed the math teacher after he woke up.

Luo Jin returned home and saw several burly men she had never seen before.

She realized that something was wrong and turned around to run, but it was too late. The men held her down. Mother Luo walked out of the room with a needle in her hand.

"I have to intervene psychologically," Mother Luo squatted down and inserted the needle into Luo Jin's neck, "Antisocial personality, violent tendencies, no empathy. If you continue like this, you will definitely become a criminal!"

"I... I didn't..." Luo Jin struggled, but her body gradually lost strength, "The police said I'm not guilty... The math teacher is guilty..."

"But everyone can see that you are not normal. All the teachers in the school are afraid of you. They hinted that I should send you to a special school. What kind of special school can accept students like you?"

"I'm not wrong!"

"Hehe, since your elder sister died, you became abnormal again. It seemed that her death had a great impact on you. I must make you forget her. Forget everything in the past and forget your abnormal talent. Be an ordinary normal person. "

"I don't want to... I want to avenge Elder Sister!"

"Disobedient children must be punished."

...

"The 1,500th psychological intervention: failed!" The assistant recorded with some reluctance on his face, "If it goes on, she will have a mental breakdown. Let's drop it?"

"No, continue!"

Luo Jin was tied to the treatment chair, numbly watching her mother holding a syringe and walking toward her.

"Can't you accept me?"

"No, I would rather you didn't exist than accept you becoming a dangerous criminal."

"I didn't hurt anyone!"

"You are an inherently evil child. I should have intervened psychologically on you long ago. Why are you persisting?"

...

"The two thousandth time! Success!"

Mother Luo smiled, picked up the dazed Luo Jin, and took her home.

"Baby, we are moving. You are going to transfer to another school." Mother Luo packed her luggage.

Luo Jin didn't care. Anyway, she didn't remember her classmates.

Late one night two years later, Luo Jin opened her eyes.

She looked out the window coldly. She opened the window, and jumped down. Her movement were quick and her steps were extremely light.

Until a man appeared in front of her.

"Do you still remember me?" The man asked.

"Remember." Luo Jin said, "You took me away and didn't let me see Elder Sister for the last time."

The man smiled, "You still hate me for this? That's for your safety. Your elder sister is my colleague. She is from the Special Criminal Investigation Bureau. She was excellent. She joined us to protect you."

He sighed with some regret, "It's a pity that we were careless and let you be captured by the bad guys."

Luo Jin asked: "Will you avenge her?"

The man nodded, "We have never stopped investigating the evil doctor Su Jingjing. This woman is too wicked. Your elder sister said before that she would write her into the novel as a villain. "

Luo Jin shook her head: "I have read Elder Sister's novels. There is no such person."

"Maybe... she hasn't had time to write it yet. She had been busy. Being a writer was a cover identity for her."

He looked at Luo Jin: "Will you join us?"

Luo Jin didn’t hesitate, "Yes! I want revenge!"

Luo Jin followed the man to the secret base, where she was arranged for a series of physical examinations. Only then, she knew that the man was her elder sister's captain.

The captain sighed as he looked at her test results, "Your spirit had suffered serious damage and your personality is currently split. One of your personalities was simple, kind and pure, while the other is the real you."

"Can it be restored?"

"No, your personality was forcibly split when your spirit was almost destroyed. If the first personality on the surface remembers the past, she and you will mutually cancel each other and your soul will be at risk of destruction."

"I understand."

"Sorry, now you can only move forward in the dark."

Luo Jin sighed helplessly.

The captain arranged some training for her and told her not to let the first personality find out about it. This meant that she could only get up quietly after the first personality falls asleep and then return to bed before dawn.

Luo Jin was always sleepy during the day and her grades were not good. She was a mediocre student.

At night, she opened her eyes and took out the hidden communicator from above the closet.

"Hostage incident with guns occurred on Hexie Street. There may be bombs at the scene. The five criminals are extremely vicious. We request support from the Special Criminal Investigation Bureau."

Luo Jin jumped out of the window and walked to the place where the incident happened. It was an ordinary residential building.

She rushed to the window and directly jumped in.

The five criminals in the room found someone by the window. When they wanted to resist, they discovered that they couldn't move.

They all fell to the ground, not knowing what happened even until they died.

Luo Jin glanced at the frightened hostages in the room and said to the communicator lightly, "Solved."

She looked at the cuffs and frowned, "The clothes are stained with blood..."

Then her figure disappeared from the window, leaving the hostages who had been rescued with a confused look on their faces.

"Is that... a human now?"

"Is it a robot? How can a human be so fast?"

"A new invention?"

"But it looks like a real person!"

It wasn't until 20 years later that the Special Criminal Investigation Bureau finally found Su Jingjing on a cruise ship.

Cornered, she took out a small disc-like object from her body.

"This can blow up the whole ship. If you don't let me go, I will let everyone on this ship be buried with me!" She laughed ferociously.

The Investigation Bureau hesitated. They couldn't implicate ordinary tourists.

At this moment, Luo Jin's figure flew out. She hugged Su Jingjing and jumped into the sea in the opposite direction of the ship.

The ship was moving fast, leaving the two people who fell into the sea far behind the ship.

Soon, the explosion was heard.

The captain stared blankly at the sea, tears instantly welled up.
