Chapter 598. Go over for New Year to see Eldest Brother

Bt dubs, talcum powder is a carcinogen
ReplyDeleteNot a man that minds the children. Don't give that credit. He only minds his wife and daughter. To these two he's good. But he's a crappy father for the sons. The love, care and support he gave this daughter in 1 week doesn't amount to that he gave the brothers in all the 14 years together! And he uses the fact that he didn't see the proces and the fact that they became so independent (what they the parents caused themselves) as the reason. I'm really discontent with this. Why make me dislike a ML I liked in the beginning (where he did show some love and care for them but NEVER doted on them like this) just to prove his love for the FL. (Because it's their 'true' child together and because the daughter looks like them).
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm not even that surprised anymore. I see this trend in Cnovels. Just to let the readers see how much the ML loves the FL, they use the children as a means to that. (Even the ones where the ML was a doting and loving father when the mother was crap but then someone transmigrated and all of a sudden the doting and love is completely transferred to the mother)
It happens so much to the point that I'm suprised and relieved when it doesn't happen
I've been trying to ignore comments that hate on him but this is a new low. I've read this book twice and I've seen the entire process of their growth. You think he didn't dote on them, please watch his subtle actions as they grew up.
DeleteHonestly they have so many memories with their dad. Going to the mountains to hunt, being taught to fight, taking them on jogs everyday. Compared to other dads of that time, it's obvious how much he cares through actions.
MiMi is a daughter he has desired for a long long time. And he is at an age where he has outgrown his solemnity and become a little more outgoing, even if it is only for his daughter. So what? That does not make him a bad dad just because he did not dote on his sons like that.
He neither neglected them, nor did he abuse them. You want to see a bad dad, see mine. Maybe you guys are all super doted on at home by your dads, you obviously don't understand what it means to be a bad parent.
He is not the best, I agree. And without LQH he would be useless as a father. She shaped him into who he is. And that's why they are made for each other. But outright slandering him as a failure is honestly wrong. I've seen worse.

And why do you guys always want such perfect characters? I mean find one parent who is absolutely faultless in real life. Even my mom who I feel is on the better side of the spectrum has so many things she did wrong while parenting.
Unless he is an absolute scum, I feel there is no need to belittle him in every chapter. Yes he is a better dad to his daughter when compared to his sons. But look at how life is now to how tense the atmosphere was back then.
He was a farmer who had to spend most of his time bending over in the fields. He had to worry about money, his wife's quirks and the fact that she was doing illegal things. Just cut him some slack please.
He is not the best father, but I don't think he has done anything to deserve being called a bad father. He has his quirks but that's why we have LQH to handle him.
