The Sickly Beauty Transmigrates into a Drama Queen Imperial Consort
病美人穿成作精贵妃后
Author: Hua Sanchun
Synopsis:
Lin Shushu transmigrated into the body of a drama queen imperial consort in a fictional dynasty. Her body was so weak and fragile that she would be panting every three steps.
Relying on the emperor's favor, the imperial consort dared to speak ill of the Empress Dowager above and punish envoys below. This offended everyone in the palace.
However, the emperor's kindness towards her was only due to the Lin family's control; in reality, he was extremely annoyed with her. The day the Lin family was destroyed would be the day the concubine apologizes.
Lin Shushu: "I can still struggle."
When Lin Shushu transmigrated, the imperial consort had just beaten an envoy and threatened to take him into the palace as a servant.
The envoy, unable to bear the humiliation, demanded an apology from the imperial consort. However, during the banquet, the imperial consort just curtsied when she collapsed.
The next day, news spread that the concubine was seriously ill and in critical condition!
Lin Shushu visited the embassy three times, genuinely wanting to apologize and make amends, but each time she fell ill on the way.
Terrified, the envoy returned home overnight, abandoning the apology for fear of accusations of plotting against the Imperial Consort.
The Empress Dowager disliked her arrogance and domineering nature, so Lin Shushu went to pay her respects daily. Her fingertips still red from the cold in the winter clutched a hand warmer.
Lin Shushu coughed incessantly: "I heard Royal Mother's throat has been dry lately, so I personally prepared pear soup. Please do me the honor of accepting it."
There was also the "Ten Thousand Blessings" painting for as a birthday gift and the "Peace and Prosperity Fortune Sticks" from Xiping Temple. Looking at Lin Shushu's increasingly pale face from the vegetarian diet for prayers, the Empress Dowager had a suspicion for once—
Could she have misunderstood the Imperial Concubine?
Privately, Lin Shushu rewarded her personal maid a hundred taels of silver: "Thank you for helping with the soup, copying the characters, and drawing the fortune sticks."
Unbeknownst when, the Imperial Concubine's reputation had reversed and Si Qi's gaze couldn't help but fall upon her.
Lin Shushu was chronically ill and her body emanating a lingering medicinal fragrance. Her skin was as smooth as ice and her waist so slender it could be encircled by a single hand.
Lin Shushu feared pain and suffering, and even more so, the Emperor's wrath which could mean she would not see the sun rise the next day.
She served the Emperor with utmost care, yet she would often fall ill first. Dizzy and closing her eyes, she clutched Si Qi's sleeve and sobbed softly.
Upon waking, she would plead guilty in a soft voice, "It's all my fault for being so weak." Her voice was choked with tears, making it impossible for anyone to utter a harsh word.
Later, the handsome emperor stood by Lin Shushu's bedside, who had fallen seriously ill shortly after being crowned empress, his voice strained and sorrowful: "Zitong, what do I do to heal you?"
